HAMDEN, Conn. — Junior Alex Law scored at the 15:11 mark of the second period, giving the No. 10 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey program the goal they would need to knock off Maine in the regular season opener at M&T Bank Arena on Friday night.
The former Boston University Terrier wristed a shot at the far pipe, beating the Maine netminder and putting the Bobcats ahead for good to secure the win.
This culminated a three-goal period in which Maine erased a 2-0 scoreline that Quinnipiac built in the first 20 minutes.
Bryn Prier started the game strong, netting the first goal off a play in front. Ella Sennick added her first collegiate goal off a back and forth passing play, combining with Ella Johnson to find the net.
Felicia Frank made 17 saves in net for the Bobcats, while Jade Barbirati recorded her first two collegiate points with a pair of helpers.
