
QU Cruises Past New Haven in Non-Conference Finale

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac men's soccer program earned a 3-0 victory over New Haven on Tuesday, Sept. 23, as the Bobcats pick up a win in their final non-conference contest of the 2025 schedule.
Alex Miller, Benjamin Telle and Andrew Monteserin all found the back of the net for Quinnipiac – who earns its second home win of the season.
Miller scored the game's first goal at 28:38, then the Bobcats scored again on a Benjamin Telle strike just one second before the end of the first half. Monteserin finished off the win with QU's third goal of the contest in the 70th minute of play.
Goalkeeper Nickolas Cardona made four saves in total and the Bobcats recorded their first clean sheet of the year.

- Captain Alex Miller got the Bobcats on the board first, registering his second career goal. Miller located a deflected shot and blasted it into the back of the net to give QU the early edge.
- Junior Benjamin Telle scored the second goal of his career, as well. Telle finished on a feed from Mateo Balbino – who earned an assist on the strike.
- Andrew Monteserin scored Quinnipiac's third and final goal of the afternoon off a feed from Sindri Sigurjonsson. Monteserin has five collegiate goals now during his time at QU, with a pair of scores coming in 2025.
- Goalkeeper Nickolas Cardona played the full 90 minutes for the Bobcats. It marks the second contest he's played in this season.
- Total shots finished even 8-8. Sivert Ryssdalsnes led QU with two shots.
- The Bobcats win the first-ever matchup at the Division I level between Quinnipiac and New Haven.
- The win marks Head Coach Eric Da Costa's 157th victory at the helm of the Bobcats.
