Women's Soccer Selected 2nd in MAAC Preseason Poll

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac Women's Soccer team was picked to finish second in the 2025 MAAC Preseason Poll, as announced by the league office on Wednesday, August 6th.
Quinnipiac received 158 total points and received two first-place votes. The Bobcats finished eight points behind the preseason favorites, Fairfield. QU finished 25 points ahead of Siena, who was picked to finish third. Canisius and Sacred Heart rounded out the top five, earning 129 and 105 points, respectively.
Senior defender Madison Alves was selected to the Preseason All-MAAC Team after a phenomenal junior season on the Quinnipiac back line. Alves was named to the All-MAAC Second Team and the All-MAAC Academic Team last season after helping lead the Bobcats to another MAAC Championship appearance.
Alves appeared in and started all 20 games for the Bobcats and registered three goals and four assists. Alves recorded her first multi-goal game in Quinnipiac's 3-0 win over Saint Peter's (Sept. 28).
The Bobcats will begin their season on August 17th as they travel to Long Island, NY, to take on the Hofstra Pride. The MAAC slate for the Bobcats opens on September 6th as they host the Rider Broncs.
