HAMDEN, Conn. — The Quinnipiac men's ice hockey program and head coach Rand Pecknold rounded out its leadership group for the 2025-26 season, announcing the addition of Charlie Leddy, Mason Marcellus and Jeremy Wilmer as assistant captains for the upcoming campaign.
The three join Connecticut native Victor Czerneckianair as the lettered leaders for the 50th Anniversary season, which kicks off on Oct. 3 at Boston College. The home opener comes two weeks later, as Quinnipiac welcomes in Maine on Oct. 17-18 for Bobcat Weekend.
Leddy joined the Bobcats last season and was immediately a starter in the Bobcat defensive core, appearing in 37 of 38 contests and finishing with 11 points. He ended the season with assists in back to back postseason contests and also helped on the game-winning tally at Cornell on Nov. 22.
Marcellus is a entering his third season as a member of the Bobcats and a two-time all-conference selection, earning 2024 All-Rookie accolades and a second team selection in 2025. He appeared in all 38 games last season, finishing with 10 goals and 28 assists. He added a career-best four-point outing against St. Lawrence on Feb. 7 and strung together a nine-game points streak from Nov. 15 to Jan. 1, posting 10 points during that stretch.
Wilmer came to Hamden after playing 76 games at Boston University over two seasons and immediately made an offensive impact, posting career highs in goals (15), assists (26), points (41), game-winning goals (four) and power-play goals (five). He crossed over the career 100-point threshold against RPI on Feb. 15, tallying three assists on the night. It was one of three games with a trio of assists, second-most in the country.
Quinnipiac is coming off its sixth consecutive NCAA Tournament berth, the longest active streak in the country, and its fifth straight Cleary Cup title as the ECAC's regular season champion.
