Home Matchups with Maine, Boston University and appearance in IceBreaker highlight slate
HAMDEN, Conn. — Quinnipiac men's ice hockey and head coach Rand Pecknold announced the release of the school's 2025-26 non-conference schedule, completing the slate for the upcoming college hockey season.
The schedule, which begins Oct. 3 at Boston College, features six regular season games at M&T Bank Arena, in addition to the 11 ECAC Hockey contests to be played in Hamden.
It is a high-profile start to the campaign for the Bobcats, as they face perennial national contender Boston College on opening night at Conte Forum. After an exhibition contest at Providence, the Bobcats compete in the first in-season tournament of the year, the IceBreaker which is held this season at Arizona State.
The two-day tournament features the host Sun Devils, Alaska-Fairbanks and Notre Dame on Oct. 10-11 in Tempe, Ariz.
The reigning Hockey East champions raise the curtain on the home slate for Quinnipiac, as Maine comes to Hamden for a two-game series on Oct. 17-18.
Three games on the road follow, with Quinnipiac heading to Holy Cross on Oct. 21 before heading into Hockey East country again to play at Merrimack (Oct. 24) and New Hampshire (Oct. 25) to close out October.
November features the beginning of ECAC play and four non-conference home games on top of that, which Alaska-Fairbanks coming to M&T Bank Arena for a Tuesday night contest on Nov. 4.
The 2024-25 national runners-up Boston University make the trip to Hamden for a Saturday night showdown on Nov. 15. Quinnipiac then bookends the Thanksgiving holiday with home matchups against Holy Cross (Nov. 26) and Stonehill (Nov. 29).
An exhibition contest against Concordia on Dec. 28 brings the Bobcats back to the ice after the holiday break, with the only remaining non-conference contests being held at Yale with the 2026 rendition of CT Ice.
Quinnipiac will play Sacred Heart in the Friday night opener, with the winner of that meeting the winner of Yale and UConn at Ingalls Rink for the title.
The Bobcats are coming off yet another 20-win season a year ago, clinching their fifth consecutive Cleary Cup and making their sixth straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament, the longest active streak in the country.
They retain four of the squad's top five point getters from a season ago, led by Jeremy Wilmer (40) and Mason Marcellus (38), who were the top two on the team, as well as both of the squad's netminders in Matej Marinov and Dylan Silverstein.
