Wilmer Nets Winner as No. 5 Bobcats Knock Off Brown in OT

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — The No. 5 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey escaped Providence with an overtime victory on Saturday night, as Jeremy Wilmer scored with 30 seconds left in overtime to propel the Bobcats to a 4-3 victory over the Brown Bears.
The senior forward finished off his third, multi-point outing of the season with a goal off a drop pass from Ethan Wyttenbach to give the Bobcats the extra point and a win to stop a two-game winless stretch.
Quinnipiac again got off to a hot start, taking a 3-1 lead after the first two periods of actino. Matthew Lansing started the scoring in the first, while Chris Pelosi and Mason Marcellus scored 5:28 apart in the second to give the visiting Bobcats a two-goal cushion heading to the third.
After a pair of goals 73 seconds apart from Brown, the two teams went to overtime, the second extra session in three outings for the Bobcats.
Wilmer's tally came after a Brown too-many-men penalty and the Bobcats converted to finish the weekend with two points.

- Both Pelosi and Wilmer finished with multi-point nights, adding a goal and assist to the cause. Wilmer has three such outings on this season, while tonight was Pelosi's first of the year.
- Pelosi has points in four of his last five, totaling five points over that stretch. Four of them have been goals.
- Wyttenbach now has points in three consecutive outings and has recording at least a goal or assist in all but one appearance this season.
- Quinnipiac put 43 shots on frame, two of its highest of the season when they posted 45 against Holy Cross. They have eclipsed the 40-shot mark in two of the last three outings.
- The Bobcats' four goals are tied for the second-most in a game this season anda re the most since they hit that number against Holy Cross on Oct. 21.
- The 14 blocked shots are the most since they had 19 against Holy Cross on Oct. 21 and the fourth time this season they've eclipsed double figures in that category.
