HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac men's basketball program has announced the signing of Tai Turnage (Bronx, NY), as revealed by Head Coach Tom Pecora and the Bobcats on Wednesday, April 16.
The 6-foot guard enjoyed a successful run at St. Raymond High School in New York City. He surpassed Isaiah Washington to become the second-highest scorer in program history after a March win in the semifinal round of the CHSAA "AA" Intersectional.
Turnage was an All-Conference selection during his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons.
"We're excited to have Tai join our program," Quinnipiac Head Coach Tom Pecora said. "He's a fine student from a great basketball family. Tai has been led by exceptional coaches throughout his basketball journey, and we can't wait for him to arrive on campus."
Turnage averaged 16.7 points, 3.8 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game during his senior season at St. Raymond in 2024-25. He shot 44% from the field, 39% from the 3-point line, and 89% from the charity stripe over 30 games.
The 247Sports three-star recruit is the 6th highest-ranked player in his class for the state of New York. He's the 32nd ranked point guard in his class (on3.com).
Turnage played AAU with the Riverside Hawks on the Under Armour circuit during his senior season.
He joins Keith McKnight (Teaneck, NJ) and Jayden Reid (Cheshire, Conn.) as incoming Quinnipiac student-athletes ahead of the 2024-25 season. The signing of both McKnight and Reid was announced on Nov. 13, 2024.
Quinnipiac won its second consecutive MAAC regular season title in 2024-25. The Bobcats went 15-5 in league play during 2023-24 to earn the program's first-ever regular season championship, then QU posted another 15-5 league mark this year.
