No. 9 Bobcats Come Up Short in Hard-Fought Battle vs No. 8 UConn

STORRS, Conn. – The No. 9 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team fell 4-3 in a back-and-forth battle against No. 8 UConn on Friday afternoon.
After a scoreless opening period, UConn broke through early in the second with a goal from their leading scorer, Kyla Josifovic.
The Bobcats responded minutes later as Tessa Holk netted her seventh goal of the season to even the score.
The Huskies regained the lead late in the frame, but Quinnipiac quickly answered in the third. Defender Zoe Uens tallied her fourth goal of the season, also marking her third multi-point game after assisting on Holk's goal.
Just 30 seconds later, UConn went back in front on Ashley Allard's second goal of the game.
Quinnipiac continued to battle and tied the game midway through the third when Makayla Watson fired a shot over the goaltender's shoulder.
However, the Huskies secured the win with a late goal from Megan Woodworth.
Goaltender Felicia Frank made 29 saves in her 17th appearance of the season.
