HAMDEN, Conn. — Mason Marcellus scored a pair of goals to help power the No. 9 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey program to an ECAC weekend sweep, knocking off St. Lawrence 4-2 on Saturday night at M&T Bank Arena.
The junior assistant captain scored the Bobcats' second and fourth goals of the night, both at even strength, to give Quinnipiac half of its offensive output en route to the home win.
Markus Vidicek started the scoring, 27 seconds before Marcellus' first tally, jamming home a pass from Ethan Wyttenbach.
Aaron Schwartz scored the Bobcats' other goal on the night, putting home a blocked shot from the point to give the hosts what they would need.
St. Lawrence added a pair of third-period goals, including one with a 6-on-4 advantage, but could not get any more past Bobcat starter Matej Marinov.
STATS AND NOTES
Quinnipiac begins the holiday early on Wednesday evening, taking on Holy Cross at 5 p.m. at M&T Bank Arena.
