Out of the break, the Bobcats went on a 4-0 scoring run to force Rider to use a timeout of their own. Rider cut the Bobcat lead to one, 23-22, as QU called their final timeout of the opening set. Out of their own timeout, the Bobcats scored two of the next three points to win the second set.
Rider held the early advantage, 8-7, in the third set as Kyle Robinson called the first timeout of the third set. The Bobcats were powered by a 9-7 scoring run out of their timeout, forcing Rider to call a timeout with Quinnipiac leading 16-15.
