Quinnipiac defeats Whitney Ave. rival for 16th consecutive contest
HAMDEN, Conn. — The No. 15 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey program has now won 16 games in a row against its Whitney Ave. rivals, knocking off Yale 4-2 in the third-place game of the 2025 Connecticut Ice tournament, held at the Martire Family Arena at Sacred Heart.
The Bobcats raced out to a 3-0 lead thanks to goals from Jeremy Wilmer, Travis Treloar and Chris Pelosi to take a 3-1 lead into the first intermission.
Yale would add another in the second, making it a 3-2 game before Andon Cerbone capped the second period with a goal in front at the 19:38 mark of the period that gave the Bobcats cushion.
The Bobcats would hold off the Bulldogs until the final three minutes, as Jeremy Wilmer and Ryan Smith netted insurance tallies.

Quinnipiac returns to its ECAC schedule with a one-game weekend, taking on Dartmouth on Friday, Jan. 31 in Hanover, N.H.

STATS AND NOTES
- Wilmer played in his 100th collegiate game tonight, recording a season-best two goals and dishing an assist. It is his 21st multi-point outing and his team-high fifth of the year.
- Treloar ended up with his 100th collegiate point, assisting on the game's first goal. He also added a tally of his own to tie for the team lead with five, multi-point outings.
- The captain finished the weekend with three points and has five over his last four games.
- Mason Marcellus tied his season-high with a pair of assists, marking the fourth time this season he's done that.
- He has recorded points in 15 of his last 17 outings, dishing five over the last four games.
- Pelosi has recorded points in seven of 10 games since the break, scoring five goals since Christmas.
- After going 7-for-7 tonight, the Bobcats have killed 48 of 51 penalties since November 15, the second-best rate in the country.
