Marinov Posts 25-Save Shutout as No. 18/20 Bobcats Finish Sweep of Princeton

HAMDEN, Conn. — Matej Marinov made 25 saves in a shutout performance and three different Bobcats found the net as the No. 18/20 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey program knocked off Princeton 3-0 in front of 2,995 fans at M&T Bank Arena on Saturday night.
The win finished off a weekend sweep in which the Bobcats outscored the Tigers 7-2 over the two nights.
Jack Ricketts started the scoring early, finishing off a breakaway from a feed off the stick of Victor Czerneckianair to make it 1-0 Bobcats.
Ryan Smith got his first of his collegiate career as the puck deflected off his skate from a point shot and into the top corner of the net, doubling the lead for Quinnipiac.
Mason Marcellus added one 2:40 later on a shorthanded breakaway, as Cooper Moore found him streaking up ice and he slotted it past the Princeton keeper to finish the scoring for the Bobcats.
Overall, Quinnipiac had seven different players find the scoresheet in a balanced effort.

- Quinnipiac is now 10-2-1 over their last 13 contests and has won seven of its last eight.
- Czerneckianair made his 100th collegiate appearance tonight, marking the occasion with an assist.
- Marcellus has now recorded a point in three straight and 12 of his last 13 appearances, dating back to Nov. 15.
- Ricketts potting goals in both games this weekend, netting his 10th career game-winner and first as a Bobcat.
- The shutout was Quinnipiac's second of the season, marking their first since Nov. 2, 2024 at Holy Cross. It is the Bobcats' first shutout on home ice since Oct. 14, 2023 when they knocked off AIC by an 8-0 final.
- Smith became the 16th different Bobcat to find the net this season.
- The Bobcats have now won 12 in a row against Princeton, outscoring them by a 42-7 margin since the 2021-22 campaign.
