Saldana's Finish Highlights Bobcats at Stony Brook Season Opener

STONY BROOK, N.Y. — The Quinnipiac University men's cross country team started its 2024 campaign on Long Island, taking part in the annual Stony Brook Season Opener on Saturday morning.

First year Alex Saldana was the highlight for David Scrivines' club, as the Oradell, N.J., native finished ninth to lead all Bobcat runners on the day. He finished at 19:47.00.

Slater Von Stetten and Andrew Woodbine rounded out the Bobcat top three, finishing in 35^th and 42^nd respectively.

STATS AND NOTES

Six of the Bobcat top seven made their collegiate debuts as first years.
Jackson Sennhenn and Alessandro Alvarez-Tullo rounded out the scoring positions for the Bobcats.
Michael Dorunda and Scott Canney also made their Bobcat debuts.
