Quinnipiac scores six of the first eight but falls at Monmouth
WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. — Liza Bailey and EllaGrace Delmond each recorded multi-goal days, while Mellissa Murphy had three ground balls and four draw controls, but the Quinnipiac women's lacrosse program fell to Monmouth on a rainy Saturday in New Jersey 12-7.
The Bobcats raced out to an early advantage, scoring the first three and six of the first eight to jump out 6-2 early in the third quarter.
Monmouth would come back, going on a nine-goal run to take control and earn a win in its home opener.
Mia Delmond and Cate Bendowski also had multi-point days, as Delmond had a goal and an assist and Bendowski dished two helpers.
STATS AND NOTES
Quinnipiac returns home on March 9, as the Bobcats take on Bryant in their annual PanCan Game at the Quinnipiac Lacrosse Stadium.

STATS AND NOTES
- Bailey recorded her first multi-goal game of the season and her first March 5, 2022 when she scored a pair against Boston University.
- EllaGrace Delmond has eight goals in her last three games, scoring on 50 percent of her shots.
- Murphy continues to be an anchor for the Bobcats' draw unit, averaging five controls a game in her first four.
- The Bobcats were an efficient 15-for-17 on the clear, a season best 88.2 percent. They also forced seven turnovers on Monmouth's clear, a season-best.
