Bobcats Play First of Five in Hamden on Feb. 24.
HAMDEN, Conn. — The 2024 Quinnipiac Women's Lacrosse season opens its home slate on Saturday afternoon, playing host to regional foe and unbeaten UMass Lowell at the Quinnipiac Lacrosse Stadium.
The River Hawks enter Saturday's matchup as one of 29 unbeaten teams left in the NCAA Division I women's lacrosse and one of seven squads with four or more wins without a loss.

LAST TIME OUT
The Bobcats opened their season at No. 21 Yale on Wednesday afternoon, falling to the Bulldogs by a 20-8 final. Angelina Sparacio set a new career best with four of Quinnipiac's eight goals, while Cate Bendowski also recorded a multi-goal game in her collegiate debut.
Iris Polly recorded a goal and an assist to open her college account with two points and Lauren Kenny dished off a pair of assists.
TALE OF THE TAPE
The Bobcat defense was one of the best in the MAAC last season, finishing third in CTs per game (9.17), GBs per game (18.44) and scoring defense (10.28) en route to a semifinal finish in the 2023 conference tournament. Quinnipiac earned its first 10-win campaign since moving to the MAAC, hosting and winning its first postseason contest since joining the league.
UMass Lowell has won each of its first four contests, defeating Sacred Heart, Merrimack, LIU and Stonehill to begin the year 4-0. Most recently, the River Hawks defeated the Skyhawks 13-9 and were up by as many as 10 in the second half. They currently boast the America East's highest scoring offense, averaging 15 goals per game.

Quinnipiac has won four of the five meetings in the series that dates back to 2015, most recently defeated Lowell by a 13-8 final on the road during the 2023 campaign. Mia Delmond and Abby Wise each scored a pair, while EllaGrace Delmond added a two-point day for the Bobcats. On the defensive end, Melissa Murphy recorded a three-GB, two-CT day.

Quinnipiac opens its new campaign with local flare, as three regional foes highlight the opening to the new campaign. After heading to Yale on Wednesday, the Bobcats will host UMass Lowell on Saturday night before trekking back on the road to Sacred Heart on Feb. 28.
The Bobcats are coming off a 10-win season a year ago, heading to the MAAC Semifinals before falling to eventual champion Fairfield. They will host six games in Hamden this season, including two of the final three in April.
