<strong>Quinnipiac at Monmouth</strong><br />

<strong>WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ. </strong>– Quinnipiac men's tennis is hitting the road for the fourth time this season to face Monmouth University in New Jersey on Sunday at 4:00 PM. <br />
<br />
<strong>SCOUTING MONMOUTH</strong>
<ul>
<li>Monmouth is 1-0 this spring with their lone win coming over Lehigh.</li>
<li>QU is 23-18 versus Monmouth since 2001 but have dropped the last eight matchups.</li>
</ul>
<strong>ROAD LOSS AT BRYANT</strong>
<ul>
<li>Daniel Velek and Finn Burridge were the only winners in the Bobcats 5-2 loss at Bryant on Saturday, Feb. 10.</li>
<li>Velek won his match in three sets after overcoming losing the first set.</li>
<li>Burridge won in straight sets at the No. 6 spot.</li>
</ul>
<strong>HOME WIN OVER SAINT MICHAEL'S</strong>
<ul>
<li>QU won in dominant fashion, 7-0 over Saint Michael's on Saturday, Feb. 3.</li>
<li>They won each doubles match, only dropping five total games.</li>
<li>The Bobcats also won every singles match while only dropping one set.</li>
</ul>
<strong>LOSS VERSUS TEMPLE</strong>
<ul>
<li>The Bobcats fell to Temple 5-2 on Friday, Feb. 2.</li>
<li>Daniel Velek was the lone singles winner, winning his match 6-4, 6-4.</li>
<li>QU also secured the doubles point with wins from Daniel Velek / Shaurya Sood and Finn Burridge / Csanad Nyaradi.</li>
</ul>
<strong>BRAUN SIMO NAMED MAAC TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK</strong>
<ul>
<li>On Wednesday afternoon, First Year Carlos Braun Simo was named MAAC Tennis Player of the Week after a 3-1 weekend for the Bobcats.</li>
<li>The native of Munich, Germany has already won seven singles matches as a Bobcat.</li>
</ul>
<strong>LOSS AT YALE</strong>
<ul>
<li>On Sunday Jan. 28, the Bobcats fell to Yale University 6-1 at Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center in New Haven.</li>
<li>The lone winner was Carlos Braun Simo at No. 4 singles. He defeated Walker Oberg of Yale, 6-1, 3-6, 12-10.</li>
</ul>
<strong>FIRST WIN OVER HOFSTRA </strong>
<ul>
<li>The Bobcats were able to rattle off four singles wins after dropping the doubles point in a 4-3 win over Hofstra on Saturday, Jan 27.</li>
<li>Daniel Velek, Ayato Arakaki, Carlos Braun Simo, and Donovan Brown each won in straight sets for the Bobcats.</li>
<li>The lone doubles winners were Finn Burridge and Carlos Braun Simo.</li>
</ul>

<strong>SEASON OPENING LOSS AT ST. JOHN'S</strong>
<ul>
<li>QU dropped its season opener at St. John's 7-0 on Wednesday, Jan. 24. </li>
<li>Although they didn't win the doubles point, Shaurya Sood and Daniel Velek won their match 6-3. </li>
<li>Graduate student Daniel Velek won the lone singles set for the Bobcats, taking the second set in his match 6-4. </li>
</ul>
<strong>#2 PRESEASON RANKING</strong>
<ul>
<li>The Bobcats were selected second in the MAAC preseason Coaches' Poll, receiving 43 points and two first-place votes. </li>
</ul>
<strong>FALL SEASON</strong>
<ul>
<li>QU played in three events in its fall season, finishing with an overall singles record of 23-15 and a doubles record of 14-13. </li>
<li>Shaurya Sood advanced to Round of 16 singles in the ITA Regionals at Yale before falling in straight sets. </li>
<li>Sood and Carlos Braun Simo each went 5-1 in singles in the fall. </li>
<li>The First Year doubles tandem of Finn Burridge and Carlos Braun Simo went 6-3 together in the fall. </li>
</ul>
<strong>LAST YEAR (2022-23)</strong>
<ul>
<li>The Bobcats went 10-10 overall during 2022-23 regular season, posting a 4-2 league record to earn a share of the MAAC regular season title under first-year Head Coach <a href="https://gobobcats.com/staff.aspx?staff=6283" target="_blank"><em>Bryan Adinolfi</em></a>. </li>
<li>QU defeated Marist, 4-3, on April 16 to clinch the No. 2 seed in postseason action. </li>
</ul>
<strong>KARAGOZOGLU & SOOD EARN ALL-MAAC HONORS</strong>
<ul>
<li>Quinnipiac men's tennis student-athletes <a href="https://gobobcats.com/sports/mens-tennis/roster/kemal-karagozoglu/12427" target="_blank"><em>Kemal Karagozoglu</em></a> and <a href="https://gobobcats.com/sports/mens-tennis/roster/shaurya-sood/12429" target="_blank"><em>Shaurya Sood</em></a> earned All-MAAC First Team status at No. 1 doubles, as revealed by the league office on Friday, April 21. </li>
<li>Karagozoglu and Sood helped lead the Bobcats with a perfect 6-0 record from the No. 1 doubles spot in MAAC play during the regular season. The duo went 12-3 together in total at No. 1 doubles. </li>
</ul>
<strong>2023 STATS/LEADERS</strong>
<ul>
<li>Five Bobcats reached 10+ singles wins this year, led by <a href="https://gobobcats.com/sports/mens-tennis/roster/donovan-brown/12426" target="_blank"><em>Donovan Brown</em></a> (15-10 in 2022-23 singles matches). Brown and <a href="https://gobobcats.com/sports/mens-tennis/roster/csanad-nyaradi/12431" target="_blank"><em>Csanad Nyaradi</em></a> both went 4-2 in MAAC play. </li>
<li><a href="https://gobobcats.com/sports/mens-tennis/roster/kemal-karagozoglu/12427" target="_blank"><em>Kemal Karagozoglu</em></a> and <a href="https://gobobcats.com/sports/mens-tennis/roster/shaurya-sood/12429" target="_blank"><em>Shaurya Sood</em></a> went a perfect 6-0 in MAAC doubles action to earn All-League status. </li>
</ul>
<strong>NEWCOMERS</strong>
<ul>
