Bobcats Set to Host The Quinnipiac Classic in Wallingford

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's golf program returns to action as they host the Quinnipiac Classic from Monday, October 14th to Tuesday, October 15th. The tournament will kick-off with 36 holes on Monday and conclude with 18 holes on Tuesday at the Farms Country Club in Wallingford, Connecticut.

HOSTING THE QU CLASSIC
- The Bobcats will host the Quinnipiac Classic for the fourth straight fall season at the Farms Country Club in Wallingford, Connecticut.
- On Day one, there will be two rounds, 36 holes, being played with 18 holes being played on day two of the tournament.
- Last season, the Bobcats won the team title and Leeyen Peralta captured the individual crown.
- Quinnipiac has not competed since the Navy Fall Invitational on September 28th and 29th in Annapolis, MD.
- The Bobcats competed in two rounds, one on each day of the Invitational, and finished in 5th place out of 15 teams.
- Sophia Fujita and Sandhya Vaikuntam tied for 13th place after the each had a two-round total of 151 (+7).
- Last year, the Bobcats competed in eleven tournaments (6 in the fall, 5 in the spring) and captured the title in three tournaments.
- Leeyen Peralta won the individual crown at four tournaments throughout the year and Aimee Uchida took first place at the Hartford One Day Invitational.
- The Bobcats wrapped up their season with the MAAC Championships at Disney's Palm Golf Course where they finished in a tie for second place.
- The Bobcats will return six members of the 2023-24 team with two seniors, one junior, and three sophomores.
- Fuge Zhang and Meg Yoshida will return for their senior seasons.
- Zhang rounded out her season last year in a tie for 11th place (+13, 229) at the MAAC Championships in Florida.
- Sandhya Vaikuntam is back for her junior campaign.
- Alexia Egdahl, Natalie Spiska, and Samantha Galantini return for their second season in Hamden.
- Galantini finished the MAAC Championships in 10th place (+12, 228), the highest finish of any first year which named her the MAAC Rookie of the Year.
- Head coach John O'Connor welcomed five first-years to Hamden before the season.
- Tekla Fine-Lease, Marisa Flores, Sophia Fujita, Amy Goddard, and Vaidehi Shah will open their collegiate career in the 2024-25 season.
- The Bobcats continue their tournament schedule with the Navy Fall Invitational (Sep. 28-29) in Annapolis, Maryland at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club.
- Following the trip to Annapolis, the Bobcats will return to Connecticut as they host the Quinnipiac Classic (Oct. 14-15) at the Farms Country Club in Wallingford, Conn.
- Quinnipiac wraps up its fall slate with the Lady Blue Hen Invitational hosted by the University of Delaware. The two-day tournament is set for Oct. 19-20 at the Rehoboth Beach Country Club.
