Women's Golf Wraps Up Day One of the Quinnipiac Classic

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's golf team competed in day one of the 2024 Quinnipiac Classic on Monday at the Farms Country Club. Quinnipiac's grouping of Samantha Galantini, Sophia Fujita, Marisa Flores, Natalie Spiska, and Alexia Egdahl finished day one in 4th place out of 11 groups.
Quinnipiac's second grouping of Vaidehi Shah, Amy Goddard, Meg Yoshida, and Sandhya Vaikuntam wrapped up day one in 8th place.
Samantha Galantini was Quinnipiac's highest finisher at the end of the first day as she shot a two-round total of 152 (+8). Galantini finished her day with a round where she carded a 71 (-1), the best round of any Bobcat on the first day.
First-year Sophia Fujita finished in 9th place (+10) after shooting a 77 (+5) in both rounds.
Natalie Spiska and Marisa Flores ended the opening day of the Quinnipiac Classic in a tie for 18th place after they finished with a total 158 (+14).
Vaidehi Shah and Meg Yoshida competed for Quinnipiac's second grouping and they both finished with a total of 162 (+18) to put them in a tie for 32nd place.
First-year Amy Goddard came in two strokes behind Shah and Yoshida (164, +20) and wrapped up day one in a tie for 37th place.
Sandhya Vaikuntam (Quinnipiac B) and Alexia Egdahl (Quinnipiac A) ended day one in a tie for 48th and 55th place, respectively.
The Bobcats will be back in action tomorrow, October 15th as they wrap up play in the Quinnipiac Classic at the Farms Country Club in Wallingford, Connecticut.
