
Quinnipiac Competes at New England Championships

HANOVER, N.H. — The Quinnipiac men's cross country program began its championship season on Friday afternoon, taking part in the NEICCA Championships in Hanover.
First year Alex Saldana led the way, finishing 36th for the Bobcats in a time of 25:30.2, the fastest 8k of his young collegiate career.
Four more first years rounded out the Bobcat top five, while underclassmen made up Quinnipiac's top six.

Quinnipiac races at the IC4A Championships on Friday afternoon in the Bronx, their final tuneup before the 2024 MAAC Championships on Nov. 2.

- Saldana bested his previous fastest 8k by nine seconds, ran at the Jasper Fall Invite on Sept. 14.
- Alessandro Alvarez-Tullo also ran his fastest 8k race, outpacing his Jasper Fall Invite run by 23.9 seconds.
- Mike Dorunda bested his previous collegiate-best by 1:27.0 as all three of his 8k races have been faster than the previous.
- Scott Canney also ran a college-best 8k of 27:47.6, which is 42.8 seconds faster than his previous best.
