Women's Cross Country Picked to Repeat as MAAC Champs

EDISON, N.J. — The Quinnipiac women's cross country team was picked to repeat as league champions by the coaches of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, the annual preseason poll revealed on Wednesday morning.
The Bobcats captured seven of the available 11 first place votes, along with 110 total points to best second-place Iona by a point. The Gaels also collected three first place votes in the process.
Siena also collected a first-place vote and was followed by Marist and Rider to round out the top five.
Quinnipiac returns all five of its scorers in the meet from a season ago, led by upperclassmen Emily Young and Liv DiStefano, as well as the championship meet's Most Outstanding Rookie in Rachel St. Germain.
Carolyn Martin's squad opens its season at the Stony Brook Season Opener on Sept. 2, beginning a six-meet regular season ahead of Oct. 28's title meet in Montgomery, N.Y.
