Bobcats Wrap Day 1 at Colonial Relays

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — Graduate student Lauren Selkin ran the fastest Quinnipiac 10k in 12 years on Friday, highlighting the Bobcats' performances at Day 1 of the Colonial Relays, held at William & Mary University.
Overall, eight Bobcat performances claimed Top 15 positions, with three inside the Top 10 after the first day of competition, highlighted by Selkin's fifth-place finish in the 10k (36:32.27).
A pair of Quinnipiac runners also claimed their spot on the Bobcat Top 10 performance list in the 400m hurdles, with Sydney Lavelle (1:04.42) and Emma Byrne (1:05.34) jumping into fourth and seventh, respectively.
Amanda Minervino had the highest finishing position of the Bobcats, taking sixth in the javelin throw with a toss of 31.86m. Erin Brennan came 0.01m from tying her school record in the pole vault, hitting the 3.50m mark that was good for seventh in the event.
On the track, Rylie Smith finished ninth in the 400m with a time of 56.76, while Avery Jordan (15.70) and Camille Blain (15.86), finished 12th and 15th in the 100m hurdles respectively.

Day 2 at the Colonial Relays begins tomorrow morning in Williamsburg. The first action begins at 10 a.m., with the unseeded 10k's on the track and shot put on the women.

- Only Susan Ashe (2007) and Rebecca White (2011) recorded faster 10k runs than Selkin did today. Ashe owns the program record at 36:14.91, while White stands just under six seconds behind her at 36:20.34.
