
Eight-Goal Outburst Powers No. 4/5 Bobcats to Win over AIC

HAMDEN, Conn. — For the third time in the last two seasons, the Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey team potted eight goals as they shut out AIC, 8-0, on Saturday night at M&T Bank Arena.
Collin Graf had five points in his return to action, while linemate Sam Lipkin added four points to aid the Bobcats' attack that saw a surge towards the end of the first period and into the second.
Quinnipiac scored five goals in a 6:36 span overlapped the first and second periods, with Graf recording four his five points during that span.
Davis Pennington dished three helpers and was a team-high, plus-four on the day. Jacob Quillan also added three assists on the night.
In his first collegiate start, Matej Marinov earned the shutout, stopping all 16 shots on his net.
STATS AND NOTES
The Bobcats hit the road next weekend, heading to Durham, N.H., for a pair against New Hampshire. Both Friday and Saturday night's matchups are slated for a 7 p.m., puck drop and can be seen live on ESPN+. Saturday night's contest will also be broadcast on NESN.

- The Bobcats also scored eight in back to back games last season, putting that many past RPI and Union at M&T Bank Arena on Dec. 9-10.
- Tonight was Graf's second, five-point game as a Bobcat. He had one goal and four assists against Union on Dec. 10.
- He also tied Dylan Wendt (Western Michigan) for the most points by a single player in a game this season.
- Pennington set a new career high in assists and points with three. It is his first, multi-assist game since Dec. 31, 2022 when he had a pair against St. Lawrence.
- Quillan matched his collegiate best of three points, last done in the Frozen Four against Michigan on April 6.
- Quinnipiac is 33-3-2 at The Bank since the start of the 2021-22 campaign.
- Lipkin recorded his third, multi-goal outing as a Bobcat and first of the year.
