
No. 2/4 Bobcats Sweep the Weekend, Win Five Straight

ITHACA, N.Y.—The Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team dominated No. 9 Cornell to win five straight. Five different Bobcats scored against the Big Red including a two-goal night for senior Jess Schryver. Graduate netminder Logan Angers posted a 17 save performance to secure the victory at Lynah Rink in Ithaca.
First year Madison Chantler tallied the opening goal 50 seconds into the first period followed by Jess Schryver's first goal of the night. Maya Labad tallied the third goal of the night to close out the first period. Junior Sadie Peart and Schryver each added another to the board in the second before graduate Shay Maloney scored the sixth goal of the evening the third.

- (0:59, 1st period, EV) Quinnipiac 1, Cornell 0: First year Madison Chantler opened the evening 59 seconds into the first period with help from Shay Maloney. Chantler forced a turnover on the boards behind the net to find Maloney in front who was able to tip the puck to Chantler who was waiting to backhand the puck behind Big Red netminder Belle Mende to give the Bobcats an early lead.
- (5:33, 1st period, EV) Quinnipiac 2, Cornell 0: Senior Jess Schryver scored her first of the night from the far circle after graduate Courtney Vorster's rebound found her waiting to one-time the puck over Mende's blocker side.
- (14:45, 1st period, EV) Quinnipiac 3, Cornell 0: Sophomore Maya Labad regained the lead in goals (13) for the Bobcats after scoring a Nina Steigauf inspired goal against Mende. Senior defender Kate Reilly passed the puck up to Labad who took it through the neutral zone and up the far side to the circle where she held the puck until finding the perfect moment to rocket one over Mende's blocker side. Brynn Dulac would take over in net for the Big Red after the Bobcats scored three in just under 15 minutes.
- (4:06, 2nd period, EV) Quinnipiac 4, Cornell 0: Assistant captain Sadie Peart notched her ninth of the season when she found herself alone with Dulac after Reilly battled on the boards to chip the puck up to her by the Bobcats bench. Peart went top shelf to the left of Dulac who did not seem ready for what Peart brought to the table.
- (11:17, 2nd period, PP) Quinnipiac 5, Cornell 0: Schryver tallied her second of the night on the powerplay, after sniping one top shelf from the near circle thanks to a perfect screen by Peart in front.
- (14:33, 2nd period, EV) Quinnipiac 6, Cornell 0: Shay Maloney belated birthday gift was the sixth Bobcat goal of the evening when she corralled a pass from Steigauf who forced a turnover in the neutral zone. Maloney stumbled a bit but was able to recover nicely and battled through four Cornell players to backhand the puck five-hole on Dulac.
- (19:14.6, 3rd period, PP) Quinnipiac 6, Cornell 1: The Big Red broke Angers shutout in the final minute after Sadie Peart took a slashing call. Cornell's Avi Adam was able to sneak one by Angers to get the Big Red on the board.
