Hamden, CT – Quinnipiac women's soccer welcomes the Siena Saints on Wednesday, September 28th at 2:30 PM in Hamden. The Bobcats/Saints meeting marks a rematch of last year's MAAC semifinals, where the Bobcats outlasteed the Saints in Penalty Kicks.
The Bobcats enter at 6-1-1 overall, defeating Canisius, 1-0, their last time out (9/24/22).
THE MATCHUP: vs. SIENA
- Siena is 1-6-2 so far this year, earning their lone win at Albany, 2-1.
- The Saints are 1-3 on the road this season and 0-1 in conference play. Their lone conference loss came at home vs. Fairfield (3-0).
- Quinnipiac is 4-9-3 against Siena since 2007. The Bobcats are 3-2-2 at home against the Saints since 2007.
- The last matchup between the Bobcats and Saints went to penalty kicks in the MAAC Semi-Finals (11/04/21). Rebecca Cooke scored the equalizer in the 84th minute to push the game into extra time. Quinnipiac went 5-for-5 on penalty kicks to advance them into the MAAC Championship.
- Rebecca Cooke has 10 goals already this season, which ranks tied for No. 3 nationally.
- Cooke has the most goals of any MAAC player. She has scored in seven straight games for the Bobcats.
- Sofia Lospinoso was named the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week (9/19-9/25) after recording a clean sheet against Canisius, where she made three saves.
- Lospinoso has two shutouts, which has her tied for 2nd in the MAAC and 25 saves, which is good for 7th in the conference.
- Quinnipiac relied on an early goal and solid defense to defeat the Canisius Golden Griffs, 1-0.
- Rebecca Cooke scored her 10th goal of the season in the 14th minute off a pass from Paige LaBerge. LaBerge recorded her second assist and sixth point of the season.
- Sofia Lospinoso was rewarded with a clean sheet as he made three saves in the effort.
- Courtney Chochol was named the MAAC Offensive Player of the Week (9/12-9/18) after tallying two goals and one assist in their lone game of the week against Niagara.
- Chochol is first in the league in assists (5), second in points (13), and tied for second in goals (4).
- The Bobcats celebrated Senior Day and Alumni Day with a 4-0 decision over the Niagara Purple Eagles.
- Courtney Chochol led the way with two goals coming in the 48th minute and the 82nd minute. Ella Gagno tallied a goal and the 70th minute and Rebecca Cooke ended it off with a goal in the 83rd minute.
- Meaghan Phillips earned a clean sheet in the victory for her first of the year.
- Quinnipiac's winning streak against Niagara was extended to six with this win and the Bobcats moved to 6-3-1 vs Niagara since 2013.

- Quinnipiac women's soccer team played to a 2-2 draw with Rhode Island on Sunday, Sept. 11 at URI Soccer Complex.

- Rebecca Cooke added to the Bobcats early lead when she scored her eighth goal of the season and 17th point of the year in the 11th minute, just nine minutes later with help from LaBerge.

- Rebecca Cooke scored twice in the second half, leading Quinnipiac past Stony Brook on Thursday afternoon (Aug. 25) at the QU Soccer Stadium.
- The Bobcats improve to 2-0-0 with the victory. Cooke scored once in the 50th minute of action to tie the game 1-1, then found the back of the net again in the 85th minute to lead QU to the comeback win. Courtney Chochol tallied her first assist of the year on Cooke's second goal.
- Sofia Lospinoso made nine saves for the Bobcats. Quinnipiac outshot Stony Brook 17-12 in total.

- The Ontario-native enjoyed a stellar start to her junior season, netting two goals in the Bobcats' season opening 3-0 win over Lafayette on Aug. 18. Her two goals and four points this season currently rank first in the MAAC (4.00 points/game).
- Quinnipiac women's soccer has been selected as the preseason MAAC favorite, as announced on Thursday, Aug. 11 by the league office.
- The Bobcats earned the No. 1 spot in the 2022 Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll, receiving 10 of 11 first-place votes and 116 total points.
- Junior Rebecca Cooke was also tabbed the league's Preseason Player of the Year. The Dublin, Ireland-native scored a team-high 13 goals last year for Quinnipiac, including six scores against MAAC opponents.
- Cooke is joined by senior midfielder Markela Bejleri on the Preseason All-MAAC Team. Bejleri recorded 14 points over 19 games this past season at QU.

- Dave Clarke enters his 23rd season at Quinnipiac.
- Clarke has firmly cemented himself as one of the premiere college coaches in the NCAA's highest division. He led the Bobcats to an NCAA Tournament berth in 2000 and a regular season title in 2001, and is the winningest coach in QU program history (205 wins).
- The Bobcats 2022 fall schedule features 16 total contests, including eight home games at the QU Soccer Stadium in Hamden.
- The Bobcats will open the fall slate on Thursday, Aug. 18 on the road against Lafayette. Quinnipiac then returns to Hamden for its home opener against Stony Brook on Aug. 25.
- The MAAC Tournament will take place on Oct. 30, Nov. 3 and Nov. 6 at the highest seed
- The Bobcats went 13-5-1 last year, going 7-3 in MAAC play during the fall 2021 campaign.
