MOREHEAD, KY. – Quinnipiac volleyball closed the Comfort Inn-vitational with a 3-1 loss against Robert Morris at Johnson Arena on Saturday afternoon.

Aryanah Diaz and Ginevra Giovagnoni led the way with a double-double apiece. Alexandra Tennon led Quinnipiac with 16 kills, while Damla Gunes tallied a team-high 35 assists.

SET ONE (25-18 Robert Morris)
After falling behind 5-0, the Bobcats fought back to tie the set at 11-11. However, the Colonials went on to take a 24-14 lead before taking the set 25-18.

SET TWO (16-25)
After the two sides played to an early 4-4 tie in the set, Quinnipiac went on an 11-4 run, capped by blocks from Alexandra Tennon and Bailey Brashear to push the Bobcats ahead 15-8. After Robert Morris trimmed Quinnipiac's lead to 15-11, the Bobcats took three of the next four points to extend the lead to 18-12 to force a Robert Morris timeout. Out of the timeout, Quinnipiac went on a 5-0 run to take a commanding 23-12 lead, before going on to take the set 25-16

SET THREE (25-18)
The two sides played to a 13-13 tie until Diaz went for a kill and a Robert Morris attack error gave QU a 15-13 lead. However, the Colonials responded with a 12-3 run to take the set 25-18.

SET FOUR (25-16)
QU found itself down 7-5 before Robert Morris went on a 5-2 run to take a 12-7 lead, forcing the Bobcats to take a timeout. Out of the timeout, the Colonials increased their lead to 20-12 before eventually taking the set 25-16 and the match 3-1.

NOTES:

Alexandra Tennon led the Bobcats with 16 kills and contributed seven digs and two blocks
Ginevra Giovagnoni added 13 kills and 11 digs for the double-double
The double-double marked the first double-double of the first-year's collegiate career
Aryanah Diaz contributed 10 kills and 16 digs for a double-double
Damla Gunes added 35 assists in the contest
