Diaz and Ka'ahanui Post Double-Doubles in Bobcats' Loss at Niagara

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. – Quinnipiac volleyball opened its MAAC slate with a 3-1 loss on the road against Niagara inside of the Gallagher Center on Saturday afternoon.
Aryanah Diaz posted a double-double to lead the Bobcats, recording 26 kills and 11 digs. Chloe Ka'ahanui added a double-double of her own with 35 assists and 18 digs, while Alexandra Tennon contributed 14 kills and seven digs in the loss.

QUINNIPIAC STATISTICAL LEADERS
The two sides played to an early 3-3 tie in the set before QU went on a 12-6 run to take a 15-9 lead. The Bobcats were able to push their lead to as much as 19-10 before Niagara stopped the run with back-to-back kills to bring the score to 19-12. However, a kill from Ginevra Giovagnoni halted the run and put the Bobcats on track. The Purple Eagles cut it to as close as 24-16 before a kill from Lexi Morse secured the set win for QU.
SET TWO (25-27)
After falling behind 7-5, QU went on a 10-2 run powered by five kills from Aryanah Diaz to take a 15-9 lead in the set. The Bobcats pushed their lead to as much as 18-12 before Niagara fought to cut its deficit to 18-15. The Purple Eagles battled back to tie the set at 25-25 before Niagara took the next two points for the set win.
SET THREE (23-25)
The Bobcats exploded for four straight points off three kills and a service ace from Diaz. After the hot start from Diaz, Niagara battled back to tie the set at 11-11. The Purple Eagles pushed ahead 14-11 before QU called a timeout. QU was able to cut it to as close as 16-14 before a Niagara run put the Purple Eagles ahead 20-15 before taking the set 25-23.
SET FOUR (19-25)
QU and Niagara battled to a 13-13 tie before the Purple Eagles inched ahead 20-16. The deficit proved to be too great for the Bobcats, as they fell in the set 25-19 and in the match 3-1.
