
Bobcats Take First at Wilton Wright Invitational

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac outdoor track & field competed at the Southern Connecticut State Wilton Wright Invitational. The Bobcats had a stellar day in New Haven, tallying six first-place finishes, 14 top-three finishes and the overall first place finish as a team.
The Bobcats recorded 157.5 points to finish first as a team at the Wilton Wright Invitational. UConn took second place with a 76 points, and CCSU finished in third with 72 points.

- Marisa Keiser took first place in the 10000m with a time of 37:51.83, which is a new career best.
- Ana Caliri placed first and tallied a career-best time in the 3000m steeplechase (12:10.87).
- Avery Jordan took first place in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.66.
- Ten Bobcats competed in the 1500m run. Emily Young led the Bobcats with a second-place finish finish (4:45.91). Alessandra Zaffina was right behind Young in third place (4:52.22). Heather Feuchtenberger took fifth place (4:52.68), and Asia Mercier finished in sixth (4:54.90). In ninth place, Brook Hagen finished with a time of 5:00.34. Shannon Goria placed 10th with a time of 5:01.13. Lydia Keys finished in 14th place (5:10.13), and Grace Michaud took 15th place (5:12.58), which is a new career-best time for Michaud. Jada Dennis finished in 21st place with a time of 5:16.51. Madeleine Shellard tallied a time of 5:31.99, finishing in 26th place.
- In the 400m, Britney Del Mundo finished in sixth place with a time of 1:01.05. Camille Blain tallied a time of 1:04.10, finishing in 15th place.
- Aisha Gay finished in second place in the 100m with a time of 12.47. Hayden Robinson finished in 16th place with a time of 13.05, and Rylie Smith was right behind Robinson in 17th place (13.09). Jordan Mayo took 26th place with a time of 13.70.
- In the 800m, Young took second place with a time of 2:18.11. Alyssa Romagnoli placed third with a time of 2:19.46. Amanda Carlson tallied a time of 2:22.15, taking fifth place, and Clare Veverka took seventh with a time of 2:24.14, which is a new personal best. Christina Gunsalus placed 10th with a time of 2:25.98. Cassidy Phillips notched a time of 2:29.62 in 14th place.
- Symone Foster took second place in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:07.93.
- In the 200m dash, Smith took ninth place with a time of 26.47. Camille Blain finished in 18th place with a time of 27.47.
- Samantha Leal took fourth place in the 5000m run with a time of 19:43.73.
- The team of Jordan, Veverka, Feuchtenberger and Mercier took first place in the 4x400m relay with a time of 4:11.15. In the same event, the team of Eileen Donovan, Phillips, Hagen and Gunsalus finished in second place (4:19.59).
- Mikah Maples added a first-place finish to the Bobcats' day in New Haven with a 13.62m toss in the shot put. Hayden Robinson finished in 13th place with a 9.77m mark. Minervino notched a 7.40m mark, taking 20th place.
- Del Mundo finished first in the triple jump with an 11.29m mark. Camille Sweet finished in fifth place (10.73m), and Grace Davis notched a 10.09m mark. Maples tallied a 10.00m in her first collegiate triple jump event.
- Minervino placed fourth in the javelin throw with a 35.77m mark, which is a new career best. Davis finished in 12th with a 24.49m mark. Camille Sweet took 17th with a 20.04m mark.
- Del Mundo notched a 5.25m mark in the long jump, finishing in fourth place. Sweet recorded a mark of 5.19m in the long jump, taking seventh place.
- In the high jump, Kalli'ana Botelho recorded a second-place finish with a 1.60m mark. Davis placed seventh with a 1.50m mark.
Quinnipiac compete at JMU on April 16 to continue the outdoor season.
