WEST WINDSOR, NJ – Top-seeded Quinnipiac women's tennis begins postseason play on Saturday afternoon, as the #1 Bobcats take on #4 Niagara at 10:00 AM from Mercer County Tennis Center.
CO-REGULAR SEASON CHAMPS
- QU earned a share of the regular season title, and will be the No. 1 seed in the 2022 MAAC Men's & Women's Tennis Championships presented by VisitNJ.
- Quinnipiac went 5-1 in MAAC play (11-8 overall) this year. The Bobcats defeated Siena on April 15 to earn the tiebreaker over the Saints, claiming the No. 1 seed in the postseason tournament.
- Director of Tennis/Head Coach Paula Miller has been named 2022 MAAC Coach of the Year after guiding the Bobcats to a 11-8 season (5-1 MAAC).
- Under the guidance of Miller, the Bobcats have earned at least a share of the regular season MAAC title eight straight times since joining the MAAC in 2013-14.
- Miller has been named MAAC Coach of the Year six times (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2021, 2022). She has led Quinnipiac to five MAAC Tournament titles and five NCAA Tournament appearances (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018).
- The Bobcats are now 54-1 in MAAC regular season matches since joining the league in 2013-14. Quinnipiac has earned MAAC Regular Season Champion status eight times.
- The Bobcats also earned four spots on the All-MAAC First Team. Claire Koscielski (#3 singles), Dominique Vasile (#4 singles), Brittney Wilbur (#6 singles) and Kamilla Nella/Alessia Truden (#1 doubles) all earned First-Team status.
- Claire Koscielski – the latest MAAC Player of the Week selection (April 20) – finished the regular season with a perfect 6-0 record in MAAC singles matches. Dominique Vasile was also perfect during MAAC singles matches, as she posted a 5-0 record from the No. 4 position in 2022. Brittney Wilbur impressed from the No. 6 singles position all season, finishing the spring with a 5-1 mark in MAAC play. Kamilla Nella and Alessia Truden teamed up to earn First-Team status at No. 1 doubles after posting a 4-2 record as a duo in league play.
- Alessia Truden (#1 singles), Jordan Bradley (#5 singles), Claire Koscielski/Brittney Wilbur (#2 doubles) and Jordan Bradley/Dominique Vasile (#3 doubles) were all tabbed All-MAAC Second Team honorees.
- Alessia Truden was named to the All-MAAC Second Team for her efforts, finishing 2022 with a 5-1 mark in MAAC singles matches (4-1 from the No. 1 position). Jordan Bradley went 3-2 from the No. 5 singles spot to earn Second Team status. Claire Koscielski/Brittney Wilbur went 5-1 from the No. 2 doubles position, and Jordan Bradley/Dominique Vasile posted a 4-2 mark at the No. 3 doubles spot.
- Niagara went 3-3 in MAAC play this season, earning the No. 4 seed in the postseason tournament
- Quinnipiac defeated the Purple Eagles (5-2) back on Saturday, April 2.
- Brittney Wilbur and Claire Koscielski each won a pair of matches for QU during the victory on 4/2. Wilbur and Koscielski won together at No. 2 doubles, then each won their singles match.
