
Indoor Track & Field Completes Day One of Competition at ECAC Championships

BOSTON, Mass. - The Quinnipiac indoor track & field team completed competition on day one of the ECAC Championships with numerous career best times. Multiple Bobcats will compete on Sunday in the finals for the 60m hurdles, the 1 mile, 400m, 200m and 4x400m and 4x800m relay events.

Quinnipiac will continue competition in Boston on day two of the ECAC Championships on Sunday, March 6.

- In the 60m hurdle preliminary race, senior Symone Foster placed fifth with a time of 8.65, which qualified her for the semifinals. In the semifinal race, Foster took second with a time of 8:54, which is a new career-best time for the senior. Foster will race in the finals on Sunday.
- Britney Del Mundo took 30th place in the 60m dash with a time of 8.04.
- Emily Young qualified for the finals in the 1 mile with a second place finish and time of 4:51.30. Amanda Carlson took 29th place with a time of 5:03.33, and Clare Veverka finished in 31st with a time of 5:06.77.
- Aisha Gay took seventh place in the 400m preliminary race, finishing with a new career-best time of 55.47 and qualifying for the semifinals.
- Asia Mercier finished in 29th in the 800m run with a time of 2:15.02.
- Gay and senior Kalli'ana Botelho both qualified for the 200m dash finals. Botel took seventh place with a time of 24.47, which is a new career best. Gay finished in 10th place with a time of 24.51.
- Lydia Keys and Marisa Kaiser took 20th and 21st, respectively, in the 5000m run. Keys tallied a personal-best time of 18:12.17, and Keiser notched a time of 18:23.78.
- The 4x800m relay team of Mercier, Young, Heather Feuchtenberger and Brooke Hagen took fifth place, qualifying for the finals with a time of 8:58.66.
- The 4x400m relay team of Botelho, Gay, Del Mundo and Rylie Smith also qualified for the finals with a time of 3:52.04.
- Del Mundo took 20th in the long jump with a 5.16m mark.
Quinnipiac will continue competition in Boston on day two of the ECAC Championships on Sunday, March 6.
