Bobcats Complete Day One of New England Championships

BOSTON, Mass. – The Quinnipiac indoor track & field team competed at the New England Championships at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center in Boston on Friday, Feb. 4. Day one of the championships included multiple student-athletes qualifying for finals on the track and a top-three finish on the field.
Highlights: Aisha Gay took first place in the 400m preliminary race to lead the team. The distance medley relay also finished in first place with a time of 12:03.03. Alyssa Romagnoli tallied a second-place finish in the 500m, and Kalli'ana Botelho took third in the high jump.

Day two of the New England Championships continues tomorrow, Feb. 5.
BOSTON, Mass. – The Quinnipiac indoor track & field team competed at the New England Championships at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center in Boston on Friday, Feb. 4. Day one of the championships included multiple student-athletes qualifying for finals on the track and a top-three finish on the field.

Bobcats on the Track | Results
- In the 200m dash preliminary race, Hayden Robinson finished in third place with a time of 25.77 and qualified for the finals. Symone Foster will also compete in the 200m dash finals with a sixth-place finish (25.87). Hailey Tolson took 20th place with a time of 27.11.
- Senior Aisha Gay finished in first in the 400m preliminary race with a time of 57.67, which is a new career best. Gay will represent Quinnipiac in the finals on Sunday. First-year Rylie Smith took 13th in the same event with a time of 1:01.47, which is a season-best time. Camille Blain finished in 16th with a time of 1:03.95.
- Alyssa Romagnoli placed second in the 500m preliminaries (1:16.53), qualifying for the finals. Asia Mercier also qualified for the finals with a sixth-place finish (1:19.63). Eileen Donovan took 15th place with a time of 1:22.33.
- In the 800m preliminary event, Heather Feuchtenberger finished in third place with a time of 2:23.67 and qualified for the finals.
- Cassidy Phillips and Brooke Hagen took on the 1000m run. In the preliminary race, Hagen finished in seventh place with a time of 3:01.00, qualifying for the finals. Phillips finished in 13th place with a time of 3:16.61.
- The Bobcats took first place in the distance medley relay with a time of 12:03.03. Clare Veverka, Asia Mercier, Emily Young and Liv DiStefano all raced in the distance medley relay, taking first for Quinnipiac.
- In the high jump, Kalli'ana Botelho finished in third place with a 1.60m jump.
- In the long jump, Camille Sweet took 13th place with a 5.09m mark. Britney Del Mundo finished in 15th with a 4.96m mark, and Zekiah Lewis notched a 4.94m mark, taking 17th.
- Mikah Maples finished in 15th place in the weight throw (13.45m).
Day two of the New England Championships continues tomorrow, Feb. 5.
