Indoor Track & Field Tallies Three First-Place Finishes at Yale

NEW Haven, Conn. - The Bobcats competed at the Yale Giegengack Invitational at Coxe Cage on Feb. 12. Numerous Bobcats recorded career-best times and marks in individual events throughout the day. Three Bobcats took first place overall, and Mikah Maples tallied three career-best marks across the track and the field.

- Aisha Gay led the Bobcats in the 60m dash with a fourth place finish and a time of 7.84. Kalli'ana Botelho notched a fifth place finish in the same event with a time of 7.91. Britney Del Mundo took sixth place (7.98), and Jordan Mayo finished in eighth place (8.19). Mikah Maples finished in 11th place with a career-best time of 8.54.
- In the 60m hurdles, Symone Foster recorded her seventh-straight win in the 60m hurdle event, tallying a time of 8.60, which is 0.1 second off of her career-best. Avery Jordan finished in eighth place with a time of 9.43.
- In the 400m dash, Rylie Smith finished in sixth place with a time of 1:00.17, which is a season-best for the rookie. Camille Blain took eighth place with a time of 1:01.88, which is also a season-best time. Eileen Donovan finished in ninth place (1:02.15).
- Seven Bobcats competed in the 1 mile run, all finishing in the top ten. Liv DiStefano took first place with a time of 5:01.37, recording a season-best time. Mia Pestle took second place with a time of 5:06.09, which is a career-best time. Katie Bradley took fourth place with a time of 5:17.81, which is also a career-best time. Lydia Keys finished in fifth place with a season-best time of 5:19.23. Marisa Keiser notched a sixth-place finish with a career-best time of 5:19.87. Grace Michaud took eighth place with a time of 5:30.79, which is a season best. Ana Caliri tallied a season-best time of 5:34.74 in ninth place.
- In the 800m, the Bobcats swept the first, second and third place positions, and five other Bobcats took spots in the top 11. Asia Mercier led the team with a first-place finish with a time of 2:13.80, which is a season-best. Emily Young finished in second with a career-best time of 2:13.98. In third place, Brooke Hagen recorded a career-best time of 2:14.67. Amanda Carlson took fourth place with a career-best time of 2:17.82. Clare Veverka tallied a career-best time of 2:17.91, finishing in fifth place. In ninth place, Cassidy Phillips also tallied a career-best time of 2:27.86. Shannon Goria placed 10th with a career-best time of 2:28.83. Madeleine Shellard finished in 11th place with a career-best time of 2:41.17.
- The Bobcats took fourth in the 4x400m relay with a time of 4:33.54.
- Del Mundo tallied a third place finish in the triple jump with a 11.74m leap. Grace Davis finished in 13th place with a 9.93m leap.
- Mikah Maples posted a fourth place finish in the shot put with a 13.63m toss, which is a career-best. Amanda Minervino finished in 12th place (7.86m).
- In the high jump, Botelho finished in sixth place with a 1.62m mark. Kalleen Rose Ozanic finished in 12th place (1.57m).
- Camille Sweet led the Bobcats in the long jump with a 12th place finish (5.15m). Del Mundo took 15th with a 5.05m mark.
- Maples took seventh place in the weight throw with a 15.08m toss, which is a career-best mark.
