HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's basketball team returns home to Hamden following a three-game road stint for a Sunday matinee matchup with St. Francis Brooklyn at noon on ESPN+ from M&T Bank Arena.

THE MATCHUP: vs. ST. FRANCIS BROOKLYN

The Terriers enter the contest at 1-7 on the season, falling in each of its last seven contests
Saint Francis Brooklyn fell short on the road at Youngstown State on Nov. 26, 70-41, before coming up short in its last time out this past Thursday with a 57-44 road loss at Monmouth
The Terriers are led by senior guard Alyssa Fisher, who is tops on the team in scoring (14.6 ppg) and thefts (1.5 spg)
Fisher scored a career-high 24 points in a one-point overtime loss against Rider and has tallied 15 or more points in five of the Terriers' eight contests on the season
Bella Green is second on the team in scoring at 9.1 points per game and leads St. Francis Brooklyn with 5.8 rebounds per game
A scrappy team, the Terriers are holding teams to 59.8 points per game on 40.3% shooting from the floor and 33.9% from beyond the arc
St. Francis Brooklyn is forcing its opponents to average 17.4 turnovers per game, resulting in 16.4 points per game off turnovers for the Terriers
The Terriers are 0-6 on the road, with a scoring margin difference of -16.4 points per game

Ella O'Donnell tallied career-highs of 14 points and five rebounds in her first collegiate start
Cur'Tiera Haywood contributed 11 points, while Mikala Morris notched 10 points of her own in the victory

QUEEN OF THE RINGS

Head coach Tricia Fabbri is in her 28th season at the helm of the Bobcats in 2022-23
A five-time Coach of the Year (three in nine MAAC seasons) and all-time winningest coach in program history, Fabbri has totaled 484 career victories, thus far
Of her 485 wins, 470 have come in Quinnipiac's Div. I era
With a 21-12 record last season, Fabbri secured the program's 11th-straight winning season under her guidance
Fabbri's Bobcats have reached the 20-win plateau in 11 seasons, including a run of eight straight seasons from 2011-2019

ROSE KNOWS

Graduate student Rose Caverly opted to return to Quinnipiac for a fifth season over the summer
Caverly's 25 assists ranks seventh in the MAAC, while her 4.2 assists per game ties her for third in the conference
Her 1.7 assist-to-turnover ratio ranks second in the MAAC
Caverly tallied season-best totals of 15 points and 8 assists in Quinnipiac's 67-64 victory over Lehigh on Nov. 27
In that game, Caverly scored seven of her 15 points in the fourth quarter, including the game-winning field goal in an old-fashioned three-point play
Entering the 2022-23 campaign, Caverly was named to the preseason All-MAAC Third Team
She averaged 8.8 points, 3.8 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game in 2021-22 and shot 35.8% from beyond the arc and 79.7% from the charity stripe
She totaled 126 assists in 2021-22, becoming the first player in program-history to tally at least 100 assists in back-to-back seasons since Gillian "Boo" Abshire did so for four consecutive seasons from 2011-2015

MAGNIFICENT MORRIS

Entering the 2022-23 campaign, Mikala Morris was named to the preseason All-MAAC First Team
With 122 career blocks, Morris ranks fifth on the program's Div. I blocks list
With 709 career rebounds, Morris ranks sixth on the program's Div. I rebounds list
At 715 career rebounds, Morris will be one of two players in the program's Div. I history to rank in the top-five in blocks and rebounds
Morris is averaging 9.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game through six contests
Her 5.5 rebounds per game ranks 13th in the conference
Morris led the Bobcats with 16 points and five assists in a loss at No. 11 Indiana on Nov. 20
In the home-opener against CCSU on Nov. 12, Morris totaled 16 points, four rebounds, three steals and a block in the victory
Last season she averaged 11.7 points, 9.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.6 blocks per game en route to earning All-MAAC Second Team honors
With 315 rebounds, Morris became just the fourth player in the program's Div. I history to grab 300+ rebounds in a season
With 315 rebounds and 53 blocks in 2021-22, Morris is the only player in Quinnipiac's Div. I history to grab 300+ rebounds and tally 50+ blocks in a season

HAYWOOD IS ALL GOOD

Through the first six games of the season, Cur'Tiera Haywood leads the Bobcats in scoring at 11.8 ppg
She led the Bobcats with 13 points and added five rebounds in the win over Hartford on Nov. 14
Haywood tallied 20 points, six rebounds, and four assists in a win over CCSU on Nov. 12
Last season Haywood appeared in 27 games and averaged a career-high 8.1 points per game
Last season Haywood shot 48.7% from the field and 35.3% from three, which ranked third and sixth in the MAAC
She scored a career-high 31 points in a win over St. Peter's on Jan. 13, 2022
Haywood is the first Bobcat to score 30+ points in a game since Jen Fay tallied 32 against Manhattan on Dec. 31, 2017

JACK(IE) OF ALL TRADES

Jackie Grisdale returns for her sophomore campaign after averaging 4.7 points and 1.6 rebounds per game en route to earning MAAC All-Rookie Team honors in 2021-22
Grisdale is averaging 7.8 points per game, while shooting 46.3% from the floor
Regarded as a defensive anchor, Grisdale was earned Christmas City Classic All-Tournament honors for her defensive prowess during the weekend invitational
Grisdale held the Bobcats' opponents' season-leading scorers to a combined total of five points on 2-for-11 (18.1%) shooting during the tournament
She tallied 10 points in road loss at No. 11 Indiana on Nov. 20
Grisdale led the Bobcats with 13 points in the win over Hartford on Nov. 14
Earning MAAC All-Rookie Team honors in 2021-22, Grisdale became the first player in program history to earn all-conference honors as a walk-on

MARVELOUS MARY

Graduate student Mary Baskerville announced that she would be transferring from Providence to Quinnipiac this past summer
Baskerville is averaging 7.8 points, 6.0 rebounds and 0.8 blocks per game through six games with Quinnipiac
She is shooting an efficient 74.1% (20-for-27) from the floor
Baskerville totaled 11 points on 5-for-6 shooting and added six rebounds in 12 minutes against Hartford on Nov. 14
She notched 12 points on 6-for-6 shooting and contributed seven rebounds in just 14 minutes of action off the bench in a win over CCSU on Nov. 12
In her Quinnipiac debut at No. 10 NC State, she totaled four points and three blocks
Baskerville graduated from Providence in 2022 with 1,077 points, 723 rebounds and 183 blocked shots
Baskerville earned All-BIG EAST Second Team honors as a junior in 2020-21
That season she led the team in scoring (12.7 ppg), rebounding (6.5 rpg), blocked shots (1.8 bpg), steals (1.4 spg) and field-goal percentage (.538)

NEW KID ON THE BLOCK

Head coach Tricia Fabbri added first-year guard/forward Ella O'Donnell to the roster prior to the 2022-23 season
A native of Shankill, Ireland, O'Donnell is a member of the Irish women's basketball national team
In six games, O'Donnell is averaging 7.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 0.7 steals per game
In her first collegiate start, O'Donnell totaled career-highs of 14 points and five rebounds in Quinnipiac's win over Lehigh on Nov. 27
She tallied 10 points and added four rebounds and a career-high three steals in a win over Hartford on Nov. 14
O'Donnell scored a career-high 10 points off the bench in a victory over CCSU on Nov. 12
She made her Irish senior women's national team debut at 18 in 2022
O'Donnell served as vice captain with Ireland u18 team at European championships in Czech Republic
She played with Ireland u20 team at European championships in Hungary
O'Donnell led Rathdown to three Dublin school league winners titles (2017, 2018, 2019)

MACK ATTACK

Graduate student Mackenzie DeWees opted to return to Quinnipiac for a fifth season over the summer
Entering the 2022-23 campaign, DeWees was named to the preseason watch list for the 2023 Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Award presented by Her Hoop Stats
DeWees was also a unanimous preseason All-MAAC First Team selection
Last season DeWees garnered All-MAAC First Team honors for the second time in her career, becoming the second player in program-history to do so behind Aryn McClure ('19)
Averaged 13.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.3 steals and 3.1 assists per game in 2021-22
Was one of only two players in the country to average at least 13.0 points, 7.0 rebounds. 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game last season
DeWees' 105 total steals and 3.4 steals per game places her fourth in the nation in both categories, respectively
She's tallied five or more steals in nine of Quinnipiac's games, most recently tallying five thefts against Marist on Feb. 24
Tallied 106 steals and averaged 3.31 steals per game, which ranked fourth and fifth in the nation
DeWees was just the second player in Quinnipiac's Div. I history to tally 100+ steals in a season, becoming the first to do so since Felicia Barron ('13) totaled 119 thefts during the 2012-13 campaign
DeWees has totaled 237 career steals, ranking third in the program's Div. I history
DeWees became the 16th player in Quinnipiac's Div. I history to reach 1,000 career points on March 9, 2022 and currently sits in 16th with 1,039 points

RECORD-BREAKING DAY

It was a total team effort as the Quinnipiac women's basketball team set a new program Div. I program-record for margin of victory, downing Hartford by 55 points in an 85-30 home victory on Nov. 18 inside of M&T Bank Arena.
Quinnipiac received a balanced scoring attack as it had five student-athletes finish in double-figures, as Cur'Tiera Haywood and Jackie Grisdale led all scorers with 13 points apiece
Mary Baskerville added 11 points off the bench, while Ella O'Donnell and Rose Caso totaled 10 points apiece as reserves as well
The 55-point win marked the largest margin of victory in Quinnipiac's Div. I history
Quinnipiac held Hartford to 30 points in the contest, the least amount of points the Bobcats have allowed in a game in its Div. I history

MID-MAJOR POLL UPDATE

The Quinnipiac women's basketball team came in at No. 16 this week in the Women's Mid-Major Top 25 rankings, earning 302 points, as announced by the College Insider committee
The only team in the MAAC ranked in the poll, Quinnipiac took on Kent State on Nov. 26 in the only matchup the Bobcats will have all season against another team within the poll
Coming in that week at No. 12, the Bobcats fell short against the then No. 17 Golden Flashes, 58-55, in the opening game of the Christmas City Classic on Nov. 26
Senior forward Cur'Tiera Haywood led the Bobcats with 13 points, while senior guard Makenzie Helms added 10 points of her own.
Mary Baskerville and Rose Caverly contributed eight points apiece in the loss

JUST WIN BABY, WIN!

M&T Bank Arena, home of the Quinnipiac Bobcats, has long been one of the most difficult arenas to play at in the country. Since the 2012-13 season, Quinnipiac owns a record of 115-24 (.827) in games played at home
In that same span, the Bobcats own a mark of 83-13 (.865) in conference play (NEC & MAAC) at home
Quinnipiac owns a 105-47 (.691) mark since November 22, 2017
The Bobcats stand with a mark of 74-13 (.850) at home in league games since joining the MAAC in 2013-14
The Bobcats are 67-10 (.870) at M&T Bank Arena in conference games since the start of the 2014-15 campaign

THAT 70's SHOW

Since the start of the 2014-15 campaign the Bobcats are 112-36 (.756) in games where they score at least 70 points
During 2017-18 (20-0), 2016-17 (16-0), 2012-13 (18-0) and 2010-11 (8-0), the Bobcats compiled undefeated records in each respective season when reaching the 70-point scoring plateau

CLOSING TIME

Quinnipiac has enjoyed a great deal of success over the past four seasons when building a first half lead. After starting 2016-17 with a mark of 2-0 when owning a halftime lead, the Bobcats saw one of their most impressive streaks in program history come to an end in a 71-68 loss at Temple
The undefeated streak, which lasted over the course of three seasons, came to an end at 46 straight wins for the Bobcats when holding a halftime lead.
Quinnipiac went undefeated in both 2014-15 (24-0) and 2015-16 (19-0) and for the first two games of 2016-17 before suffering the defeat.
Overall, the Bobcats own a mark of 141-12 (.922) since the start of 2014-15 in games in which Quinnipiac leads at the half

PRESEASON ACCLAIM

Quinnipiac women's basketball was picked to finish first in the MAAC as announced by the conference office on Oct. 18, during the 2022-23 Basketball Preseason Awards Show on ESPN3
The Bobcats were tabbed No. 1 in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, earning 117 total points and eight first place votes
Trailing Quinnipiac in second was Manhattan with 112 points (3), followed by Niagara at 94 votes and reigning MAAC Tournament champions Fairfield with 74 points
Three Bobcats earned All-MAAC preseason honors in Mackenzie DeWees (First Team, *unanimous), Mikala Morris (First Team) and Rose Caverly (Third Team)
Manhattan's Dee Dee Davis was tabbed as the conference's Preseason Player of the Year

2021-22 SEASON IN REVIEW
