Three Bobcats Post a Double-Double in Win Over Iona

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Damla Gunes, Aryanah Diaz and Ginevra Giovagnoni posted a double-double apiece, as the Quinnipiac volleyball team downed Iona in four sets on the road inside of the Hynes Athletic Center on Sunday afternoon.
Aryanah Diaz posted a double-double with 14 kills and 12 digs, Ginevra Giovagnoni posted the second double-double of her career with 11 kills and 16 digs and Damla Gunes recorded 47 assists and 11 digs in the victory.

SET ONE (25-23, Quinnipiac)
The two sides played the set close until Quinnipiac inched ahead with a 17-13 lead. However, Iona battled back to take a 23-21 lead, forcing the Bobcats to use their final timeout of the set. Out of the timeout, Iona took the set 25-23.
SET TWO (19-25)
The two sides played to a 7-7 tie in the set before Quinnipiac went on a 10-4 run to take a 17-11 lead before Iona called timeout. Out of the break, the Gaels battled back to trim the deficit to 20-16 before Quinnipiac called a timeout. Iona cut it as close as 20-18 before Quinnipiac sealed the set, 25-19
SET THREE (21-25)
The Bobcats jumped out to a 9-1 lead early in the set before Iona called timeout. Quinnipiac's lead reached 17-10 before taking the set, 25-21.
SET FOUR (23-25)
The two sides traded points to a 14-14 tie before Quinnipiac pushed ahead 20-16, forcing an Iona timeout. Out of the break, Iona fought back to take a 23-22 lead before Quinnipiac closed the set with a 3-0 run behind a kill apiece from Aryanah Diaz, Yagmur Gunes and Lexi Morse to take the set and match.

- The Bobcats will be back in action on Saturday, Nov 12, when QU plays host to MAAC foe Saint Peter's
