Bobcats Extend Win Streak to Three Games, Down Canisius

HAMDEN, Conn. – Aryanah Diaz tallied 13 kills and 13 digs for a double-double to lead the Quinnipiac volleyball program past Canisius in four sets at home Saturday afternoon on Burt Kahn Court to extend the Bobcats' win streak to three games.
Damla Gunes added 38 assists, Alexandra Tennon added 10 kills and seven digs, while Nicole Legg contributed five kills and a career-high seven service aces in the win.

QUINNIPIAC STATISTICAL LEADERS
The two sides played to a 3-3 tie in the set before Quinnipiac went on an 8-2 run to push ahead 11-5 before Canisius called a timeout. Out of the break, Canisius battled back to cut its deficit to 13-11, however, QU responded with a 3-1 run to extend the lead to 16-12, forcing Canisius to burn its final timeout of the set.
Out of the second break, the Bobcats were able to extend their lead to as much as 22-11 before going on to take the set, 25-14.
SET TWO (21-25)
The two sides battled to a 13-13 tie in the set before QU went on a 3-1 run to push ahead 17-14, forcing a Canisius timeout. Quinnipiac maintained its distance at 19-16 when Canisius used its second timeout. Out of the break, Canisius battled back to cut its deficit to 20-19, forcing QU to use a timeout. Out of the break, Canisius went on a 3-0 run to take a 22-20 lead, forcing QU to take its final timeout of the set.
Out of the break, Canisius took three of the next four points to secure the set win.
SET THREE (25-20)
The Bobcats jumped out to a 10-5 lead behind three kills from Lexi Morse, forcing a Canisius timeout. The Bobcats maintained distance through the set, increasing its lead to 17-12, forcing the Golden Griffins to take its second timeout of the set. Canisius battled back to cut the deficit to 17-15, forcing QU to burn its first timeout of the set.
The Bobcats took the next three points out of the timeout to go up 20-15, never looking back before securing the set at 25-20.
SET FOUR (25-19)
The Bobcats opened the set with a 4-1 lead behind two service aces from Nicole Legg. Quinnipiac's lead reached as much as 6-2 before Canisius called its first timeout of the set. Out of the timeout, Canisius battled back to take an 11-10 lead in the set to force a timeout.
Trailing 12-11 in the set, Legg scored three consecutive service aces to give QU a 14-12 lead, forcing Canisius to use its final timeout of the set. QU maintained momentum after the break, building its lead to 19-14 before going on to take the set, 25-19, and the match, 3-1.
