Bobcats Down Saint Peter's in Hamden

HAMDEN, Conn. – Four different Bobcats scored en route to a 4-0 victory over Saint Peter's on Saturday afternoon in Hamden.

Sander Sonsterud opened up the scoring for the Bobcats in the 9^th minute with his first collegiate goal. Quinnipiac captain David Bercedo scored his tenth goal of the season to extend the lead to two before Ramesh Delsouz and Drew Seguro added a goal of their own to push the Bobcats past the Peacocks, 4-0.

QU moves to 4-1-2 in the MAAC with the victory. The Bobcats are 7-0-1 at home so far in 2022.

SCORING SUMMARY
First Half

(9' – Quinnipiac 1, Saint Peter's 0): Quinnipiac was rewarded a free kick after a Saint Peter's foul. Jared Smith lined up to take the free kick and sent the ball towards the goal. Sander Sonsterud came in with a header into the back of the goal to give Quinnipiac an early 1-0 lead.
(20' – Quinnipiac 2, Saint Peter's 0): Noah Silverman found David Bercedo in the box before he beat the Peacocks' goalie for Quinnipiac's second goal of the game. Bercedo's 10^th goal of the season gave Quinnipiac a two goal lead.
(33' – Quinnipiac 3, Saint Peter's 0): Noah Silverman fired a shot at the Saint Peter's goalkeeper who left a rebound sitting in the box. Ramesh Delsouz cleaned up the rebound and found the back of the net to extend the Bobcats' lead to three.

Second Half

(85' – Quinnipiac 4, Saint Peter's 0): Sophomore Drew Seguro was all alone on the Peacocks' goalkeeper and fired a shot past him to give the Bobcats a 4-0 lead. Ryan Lim was credited with the lone assist on the goal, which was his first collegiate point.

NOTES

Sander Sonsterud's game opening goal was his first collegiate goal and would stand as the game winning goal.
Bobcats' captain David Bercedo pushed his season goal total to 10 after his goal in the 20^th minute. Bercedo now has 23 points in his senior campaign.
First year Ramesh Delsouz gave Quinnipiac a 3-0 lead with his second goal of the season.
Drew Seguro added a late goal for QU with his first collegiate goal. Ryan Lim would get the assist on the goal for his first collegiate point.
Total shots finished at 18-10 in favor of the Bobcats. Ten different QU players attempted a shot on goal.
