Bobcats Score Five in Home Win vs. Manhattan

HAMDEN, Conn – Olivia Scott scored twice to pace the Bobcats' offense, as Quinnipiac women's soccer defeated Manhattan, 5-1, on Wednesday afternoon in Hamden.
Scott led the way with two goals in the first 11 minutes. Molly Andrews and Ella Gagno also scored in the first half for the Bobcats. Rebecca Cooke scored her NCAA-leading 19th goal of the season for QU's lone second-half strike.
With the win, QU moves to 11-2-1 overall and 7-1-0 in the MAAC. The Bobcats have now outscored opponents 29-5 in eight league matches.

First Half
- (2' — Quinnipiac 1, Manhattan 0): After a corner kick was originally cleared out, Kayla Mingachos found Olivia Scott in the middle of the box and she found the back of the net to give the Bobcats the early lead.
- (11' — Quinnipiac 2, Manhattan 0): On another Bobcats corner kick the ball found its way to Courtney Chochol, who sent it on goal before it was backheeled in by Olivia Scott.
- (12' — Quinnipiac 3, Manhattan 0): Rebecca Cooke dribbled on goal and tried to chip the goalkeeper who made a save, but the ball bounced right to Molly Andrews, and she sent it home.
- (41' — Quinnipiac 4, Manhattan 0): Markela Bejleri gained possession and found Rebecca Cooke who passed it along to Ella Gagno who took a dribble and then scored from just inside the box.
- (43' — Quinnipiac 4, Manhattan 1): The ball was sent towards the box and made its way to Sami Derrico, who took a shot and then got her own rebound and sent it home for the Manhattan's first goal.
- (65' — Quinnipiac 5, Manhattan 1): Madison Mandleur sent the ball into the box and Markela Bejleri headed it towards Rebecca Cooke who sent it home for the goal.
- Rebecca Cooke found the back of the net once again. She currently leads the NCAA in scoring with 19 goals.
- Olivia Scott scored her first and second goals of the season.
- Molly Andrews scored her first goal as a Bobcat, finding the back of the net in the 12th minute.
- Ella Gagno added her fourth goal of the season. She now has three over the Bobcats' last six matches.
- The Bobcats had four different goal scorers in today's victory.
- Courtney Chochol added another assist to extend her team-best total to 12 helpers. She now ranks second in the country, trailing only Alabama's Felicia Knox (14).
