Tennon, Gunes Post Double-Doubles to Lead QU Past Saint Peter's

JERSEY CITY, NJ. – Alexandra Tennon tallied 11 kills and 10 digs for a double-double to lead the Quinnipiac volleyball program past Saint Peter's in four sets on the road Sunday afternoon inside of the Yanitelli Center.
Damla Gunes added 38 assists and 10 digs for a double-double, while Aryanah Diaz added 17 kills, four service aces and four digs in the win.

SET ONE (25-17, Quinnipiac)
The Bobcats jumped ahead in the set 13-6, never relinquishing the lead or letting Saint Peter's back in the frame before cruising to a 25-17 set victory.
SET TWO (25-16)
Saint Peter's led early in the set 3-1 before QU fought back to take an 11-9 lead in the set forcing a Saint Peter's timeout. The Bobcats built their lead to as much as 21-13 in the set before the Peacocks used their final timeout of the set. The lead proved to be too much for Saint Peter's, as QU held on for the 25-16 set victory.
SET THREE (23-25)
The two sides traded points in the set to a 4-4 tie before the Bobcats crept ahead for a 13-10 lead. However Saint Peter's battled back to take a 17-14 lead. QU cut the deficit to 19-18 before the Peacocks pushed the lead back up to 22-18 before taking the set 25-23.
SET FOUR (25-17)
Quinnipiac wasted no time in the fourth set, jumping out to an early 9-3 advantage. The Bobcats maintained their distance, building the lead to 16-10 before extending it to 19-13. The lead proved to be too much for the Peacocks, as QU held on for the 25-17 set win and 3-1 match win.

● Diaz led the Bobcats with 17 kills and four service aces
● Diaz has posted four service aces in back-to-back matches
● Tennon tallied a double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs
● It marked her fourth double-double of the season
● Damla Gunes posted her fourth double-double of the season with 38 assists and 10 digs
● Gunes has recorded 30 or more assists in eight matches this season
● Giorgia Donghi posted 12 kills in the match
