HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac women's soccer looks to extend their unbeaten streak in MAAC play on Saturday, Oct. 15 as they head to Iona for a 1 p.m. matchup.
FIRST-PLACE BOBCATS
- Quinnipiac has posted a perfect 6-0-0 against MAAC teams through the last six matchups.
- The Bobcats are currently #46 nationally in the latest Women's Soccer RPI, 23 spots ahead of the next closest MAAC team (Fairfield, #69).
- QU has outscored league opponents 24-3 over six MAAC contests.
- The Bobcats are a perfect 6-0 at the QU Soccer Stadium in Hamden.
- Quinnipiac women's soccer extended its unbeaten streak to eight games with a 4-0 win over Marist on Wednesday, Oct. 5.
- Five different Bobcats scored a goal against Rider, including Rebecca Cooke who has scored at least one goal in the last 11 matchups and has points in every matchup this season.
- Courtney Chochol has 11 assists on the year, tallying a goal and two assists against the Broncs.
- Sophia Lospinoso and Meaghan Phillips split time in net with Phillips tallying two saves in the shutout.
- Rebecca Cooke and Courtney Chochol both rank among the nation's best scorers heading into Wednesday's matchup.
- Rebecca Cooke – a junior – leads the entire country in goals per game (1.50 PPG). Her 37 total points are the most of any MAAC player. She has an 11-game goal streak, and has netted 10 scores during QU's five MAAC contests thus far. The Dublin, Ireland-native ranks #1 nationally in total goals – scoring 18 times over 12 games so far this season (as of Wednesday, Oct. 12) and is tied for first.
- Courtney Chochol has 11 assists, which ranks tied for the second-highest helper total in 2022. The junior is averaging .83 assists per game (No. 2 nationally) and has recorded 1.75 points per game
- As a team, QU has scored 9.00 points per game (No. 4 nationally).
- The Broncs are 5-5-2 so far this year, going 2-3-0 in MAAC action.
- Makenzie Rodrigues has totaled nine points to lead the Broncs, as has Lindsey Maslow.
- QU is 2-5-2 since joining the MAAC (2013) against Rider. The Bobcats won the latest matchup (4-0) in October of 2021.
- Quinnipiac women's soccer has been selected as the preseason MAAC favorite, as announced on Thursday, Aug. 11 by the league office.
- The Bobcats earned the No. 1 spot in the 2022 Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll, receiving 10 of 11 first-place votes and 116 total points.
- Junior Rebecca Cooke was also tabbed the league's Preseason Player of the Year. The Dublin, Ireland-native scored a team-high 13 goals last year for Quinnipiac, including six scores against MAAC opponents.
- Cooke is joined by senior midfielder Markela Bejleri on the Preseason All-MAAC Team. Bejleri recorded 14 points over 19 games this past season at QU.

- Dave Clarke enters his 23rd season at Quinnipiac.
- Clarke has firmly cemented himself as one of the premiere college coaches in the NCAA's highest division. He led the Bobcats to an NCAA Tournament berth in 2000 and a regular season title in 2001, and is the winningest coach in QU program history.
- The Bobcats 2022 fall schedule features 16 total contests, including eight home games at the QU Soccer Stadium in Hamden.
- The Bobcats will open the fall slate on Thursday, Aug. 18 on the road against Lafayette. Quinnipiac then returns to Hamden for its home opener against Stony Brook on Aug. 25.
- The MAAC Tournament will take place on Oct. 30, Nov. 3 and Nov. 6 at the highest seed
- The Bobcats went 13-5-1 last year, going 7-3 in MAAC play during the fall 2021 campaign.
- Quinnipiac reached the MAAC Championship, falling against Monmouth on Nov. 7 in West Long Branch, N.J.
- QU has advanced to at least the semifinal round of the postseason MAAC Tournament in five of the last six years.
