Zhang Leads the Way at Boston College

CANTON, Mass. - First year Fuge Zhang followed up an opening round 73 (+1) with a second round 74 (+2) to vault into fourth place after day one at the Boston College Intercollegiate in Canton, Mass. on Monday.

Two more first years, Elyse Kim and Aimee Uchida, claimed spots inside of the top 20 heading into tomorrow's final round at Blue Hill Country Club. Kim shot identical rounds of 76, while Uchida went 77-75 on the day.

The five Bobcats in action in Canton will wrap up this week's competition tomorrow before heading to Annapolis, Md. on October 2nd for the Navy Invitational.

Scores & Notes:

Zhang recorded eight birdies in the two rounds, already the most by any Quinnipiac first year in one tournament in program history.
The first year also leads all golfers in par five scoring, at -4, and was second with the eight birdies.
Kim and Uchida each tallied a birdie in round one and played steady in round two with 14 and 15 pars, respectively.
Meg Yoshida shot 81-79 and is currently tied for 50th. The first year carded a birdie in each round.
Junior Leeyen Peralta had a tough opening round of 86, but the 2021 All-MAAC performer bounced back with a 78 in round two.
The Bobcats were third amongst all teams with 107 total pars.
