Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y. – The Quinnipiac women's golf team finished the first round of the St. John's Invitational in 3^rd place out of 12 teams on Monday. As a team, the Bobcats shot a 323 (+39) at the Saint Andrew's Golf Course. Quinnipiac will close out play tomorrow, April 7^th, with tee times at 9:30 AM.

Sophia Fujita finished as the highest finisher among the Bobcats, finishing in a tie for second place. Fujita shot a 77 (+6) in the first of two rounds in the St. John's Invitational.

Marisa Flores and Natalie Spiska (competing as an individual) closed out the first day in a tie for ninth place, both shooting an 80 (+9) in the first round of play.

First-year Michelle Wong and redshirt first-year Tekla Fine-Lease both finished the day with a score of 83 (+12), putting them in a five-way tie for 27^th place.

Alexia Egdahl rounded out the Quinnipiac grouping, shooting an 88 (+17) in the opening round in Hastings-on-Hudson.

SCORES AND NOTES

Five Bobcats will enter day two in the top 30 in the overall leaderboards: Sophia Fujita, Marisa Flores, Natalie Spiska, Michelle Wong, and Tekla Fine-Lease.
The Bobcats sit just six strokes behind the leaders, the Fairfield Stags (+33).
Quinnipiac will tee of tomorrow at 9:30 AM.
