Cooke Wins Back-to-Back MAAC Rookie of the Week Awards

EDISON, N.J. - First-year Rebecca Cooke has been named the MAAC Rookie of the Week for the second week in a row, as announced by the conference on Tuesday, March 23.
The rookie led the Bobcats in a 2-2 overtime tie at Rider with two goals. The Bobcats were down 0-2 early in the first half. Cooke netted her first collegiate goal in the 33rd minute of the first half to take Quinnipiac within one at halftime. The Bobcats battled back throughout the second half, outshooting Rider 13-3, and Cooke scored her second goal of the game in 86th minute to force overtime. Neither Quinnipiac nor Rider could score in overtime, and the score remained tied, 2-2, for the final.
Cooke now has two goals and two assists through her first two career starts as a Bobcat. The last Quinnipiac rookie to be named MAAC Rookie of the Week twice in one season was redshirt senior Kelsey Goldring in 2017.
The Bobcats are back in action today, Tuesday, March 23 at home against Manhattan. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
