Peart, Girard score in 4-2 loss
HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team dropped the first game of two against the No. 5/5 Colgate Raiders, 4-2, on Friday night. Sophomore Sadie Peart netted the game's first goal, and the scoring went back-and-forth through the second period. The Raiders scored their third goal with under three minutes to play in regulation, and then added an empty-net goal at the end of the third.
Senior Taylor Girard scored the Bocbats' second goal. The senior forward is currently on a five-game point streak and has tallied seven points in her last five games. Junior Lexie Adzija recorded two assists and leads the team with 16 points. Redshirt-sophomore Logan Angers made 32 saves in the loss.

SCORING SUMMARY
- (4:36, 1st period, EV) – Quinnipiac 1, Colgate 0: Lexie Adzija recovered the puck off a Colgate turnover in the corner and found Sadie Peart right at the crease. Peart buried the puck past Colgate's Kayle Osborne to give Quinnipiac a 1-0 lead.
- (4:59, 1st period, EV) – Quinnipiac 1, Colgate 1: The Raiders quickly answered as they scored less than 30 seconds later to tie the game. Darcie Lappan sniped a shot from the right side past Logan Angers.
- (19:10, 1st period, EV) – Quinnipiac 2, Colgate 1: The Bobcats regained the lead with under a minute to play in the first off of a goal from Taylor Girard. Adzija found senior Renee Saltness on the left side inside the circle, and Saltness slide the puck to Girard on the back door.
- (1:01, 2nd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 2, Colgate 2: The Raiders tied the game for a second time as Kaly Kaltounkova scored from Kaitlyn O'Donohoe and Danielle Serdachny.
- (17:23, 3rd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 2, Colgate 3: Serdachny scored a stellar goal from the right side past Angers. Malia Schneider and Kalounkova tallied assists.
- (19:01, 3rd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 2, Colgate 4: Allyson Simpson scored an empty-net goal to give Colgate the 4-2 win.
- Girard netter her third goal in five games and is on a five-game point streak. She has six goals and eight assists for 14 points this season.
- Sophomore Sadie Peart scored her fifth goal of the season and now has eight points on the year.
- Angers made 32 saves in the loss, which is her second-highest save total this season.
- Adzija tallied two assists and leads the team with 10 helpers.
