Quinnipiac fell to St. Lawrence, 4-1 on Saturday afternoon

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team fell to the St. Lawrence Saints on Saturday afternoon, 4-1. This was the first game of three in the home series, and the Bobcats will get two more chances to face the Saints this weekend.

Senior Taylor Girard scored the Bobcats' lone goal, and senior Renee Saltness and sophomore Kate Reilly added assists. St. Lawrence's Lucy Morgan made 33 saves, and Julia Gosling and Anna Segedi led the Saints with three points each.

SCORING SUMMARY

(9:30, 1st period, PP) – Quinnipiac 0, St. Lawrence 1: The Saints scored first after nine minutes passed in the first period. Anna Segedi netted her first of the game from Shailynn Snow and Skylar Podvey.
(17:33, 1st period, EV) – Quinnipiac 1, St. Lawrence 1: Senior Taylor Girard scored her fourth goal of the year from Saltness and Reilly.
(19:26, 1st period EV) – Quinnipiac 1, St. Lawrence: The Saints scored with a little over thirty seconds to play in the first – Julia Gosling gave the Saints a 2-1 lead.
(12:36, 3rd period) – Quinnipiac 1, St. Lawrence 3: The Saints extended their lead after Gosling scored off a rebound from a break-away by Anna Segedi.
(13:01, 3nd period) – Quinnipiac 1, St. Lawrence 4: Segedi added her second goal of the day to seal the game in the third period.

NOTES

Girard netted her fourth goal of the year and now has 11 points on four goals and seven assists.
Saltness tallied her eight assist of the year and now has 14 points on six goals and eight assists. Reilly also tallied a helper and now has eight points on the season.
Redshirt sophomore Logan Angers made 15 saves.
Quinnipiac outshot St. Lawrence, 34-21.
The Bobcats allowed one power play goal and went 0-4 on the power play.
Quinnipiac won the faceoff battle, 40 out of 56 (71%).
