HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's basketball dropped its MAAC opener vs. Saint Peter's, 69-59, on Friday night at the People's United Center.

Matt Balanc led the Bobcats with 20 points, adding seven rebounds in 34+ minutes.

Kevin Marfo recorded his fourth double-double of the year, recording 12 points and a season-high 20 rebounds.

The Bobcats went on a 10-0 run from 5:54 – 3:25 in the second half, cutting the Saint Peter's deficit to just two points.

Matt Balanc's 20-point performance is his fifth double-digit effort of the young season. The redshirt junior leads Quinnipiac in scoring through seven games (14.1 PPG). He also grabbed a season-high seven rebounds.
Kevin Marfo's 20-rebound performance finishes just one board shy of his career-high mark (21 rebounds, vs. Monmouth on Jan. 12, 2020). Marfo also chipped in with 13 points, going 7-of-12 from the free throw line.
Savion Lewis added 12 points, five assists and two rebounds off the bench in 27+ minutes.
Saint Peter's had four scorers in double digits: Ndefo (16), Banks III (15), Edert (13), F. Drame (13).
