No. 6/7 Women's Ice Hockey Blanks Cornell, 4-0

ITHACA, N.Y. – The No. 6/7 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team shutout the Cornell Big Red on Friday afternoon in a 4-0 victory. Four different Bobcats score in the win, which was the team's first win against Cornell since 2017-18 and first win at Lynah Rink since 2015-16.
First-years Veronica Bac and Maya Labad got things started, and graduate student Taylor House add another goal to capitalize on the 3-0 lead in the second period. Junior Jess Schryver also added a power play goal in the third to secure the 4-0 win. Redshirt junior Logan Angers tallied 19 saves in the shutout win.
The Bobcats improve to 12-1-2 overall this season and 6-1-0 in conference play. Quinnipiac will play at No. 5/5 Colgate tomorrow, Nov. 20.

SCORING SUMMARY
- (1:58, 2nd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 1, Cornell 0: First-year Veronica Bac netted her third goal of the season to give the Bobcats a 1-0 lead. Sophomore Maddy Samoskevich secured the puck in the neutral zone and skated back around to the Bobcats' defensive zone. She sent the puck up the ice to first-year Maya Labad, who skated across the blue line and found Bac in the slot. Bac was wide open and buried it past Cornell's Lindsay Browning.
- (4:02, 2nd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 2, Cornell 0: The Bobcats scored the team's second goal of the period off a tip-in by graduate student Taylor House. Graduate student Olivia Konigson sent the puck on net, and House set a nice screen in front and tipped it in. Junior Kate Reilly also tallied an assist on the goal.
- (19:58, 2nd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 3, Cornell 0: With just 2.2 seconds remaining in the period, Labad netted a goal of her own to give the Bobcats a 3-0 lead. She secured the puck behind the net and sent it inside to graduate student Renee Saltness. Saltness shot the puck and Labad sent another shot on net on the rebound and scored.
- (9:30, 2nd period, PP) – Quinnipiac 4, Cornell 0: The Bobcats scored a power play goal in the third to extend the lead to 4-0. Junior Jess Schryver shot once and then got her own rebound and shot again from the left side of the slot and scored. Junior Sadie Peart and sophomore Kendall Cooper added assists on the goal.
- Four different Bobcats scored goals in the shutout win.
- Labad tallied a goal and an assist, recording her first multi-point game of the season.
- Schryver has netted two goals in the last three games and now has 12 points on the season.
- Bac recorded her third goal of the season.
- Six Bobcats notched assists in the win – Olivia Konigson, Kendall Cooper, Maddy Samoskevich, Kate Reilly, Renee Saltness and Sadie Peart.
- Angers notched 19 saves in her second shutout victory of the season and moves to 6-0-1 this year. Cornell's Lindsay Browning made 27 saves in the loss.
- The Bobcats outshot the Big Red, 31-19.
- Quinnipiac held the edge on the faceoffs, winning 53%. House and senior Lexie Adzija notched 12 and 11 faceoff wins each.
- The Bobcats went 1-2 on the power play and Cornell went 0-2.
