Kron Nets Game-Winner vs Marist, Bobcats Advance to Semifinal

HAMDEN, Conn. – The No. 2 Bobcats defeated the No. 7 Marist Red Foxes in the MAAC Quarterfinal game at home on Sunday afternoon. Senior Gretchen Kron netted the games lone goal in the 67th minute on a set-piece to lift the Bobcats over the Red Foxes, 1-0. Sophomore Sofia Lospinoso made four saves in her fourth shutout win of the season.
Quinnipiac will advance to the MAAC Semifinal game, which is set for Thursday, Nov. 4.

- (67' – Quinnipiac 1, Marist 0): KThe Bobcats earned a free-kick about 25 yards out from the goal in the second half. Senior Selena Salas took the free kick, sending the ball into the box. Senior Gretchen Kron scored a diving-header goal right off Salas' kick, giving the Bobcats a 1-0 lead and eventual win.
- The Bobcats won the team's third-straight MAAC Quarterfinal game today.
- Quinnipiac improves to 6-3-2 all-time versus Marist. The Bobcats also defeated the Red Foxes in the 2019 MAAC Quarterfinal game; Kron scored a similar game-winning goal against the Red Foxes in the 3-2 comeback win.
