Women's Soccer Takes Down Rider

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's soccer team defeated the Rider Broncs in a 4-0 road shutout. Four different Bobcats score, and sophomore keeper Sofia Lospinoso recorded her second shutout of the season. The Bobcats secured the team's 11 victory of the season and sixth win in conference play.
Senior Selena Salas, sophomore Olivia Kudrikow and juniors Markela Bejleri and Taylor Dowdell all scored in the win.

- (27' – Quinnipiac 1, Rider 0): Salas netted her seventh penalty kick of the season to give the Bobcats a 1-0 lead. Bejleri was taken down in the box, and Salas sent the PK shot past Rider's Rachel Ross.
- (63' – Quinnipiac 2, Rider 0): Kudrikow scored her third goal of the year off a nice shot from outside th 18-yard box after beating a Rider defender.
- (68' – Quinnipiac 3, Rider 0): Bejleri scored off a corner kick from the top of the box off a volley that went into the top right corner of the goal. First-year Anna Costello added an assist.
- (86' – Quinnipiac 4, Rider 0): Junior Taylor Dowdell scored her first career goal with five minutes remaining in the second half. She received a ball from sophomore Courtney Chochol and passed it by Rider's keeper Rachel Ross.
- The Bobcats secured the team's first win over Rider since Oct. 29, 2017. The team's all-time record against Rider is now 3-5-2.
- The Bobcats tallied the team's largest shutout victory of the season since defeating Saint Peter's, 5-0, on Oct. 9.
- Bejleri and Kudrikow recorded her third goal of the season.
- Salas netted her eighth goal of the year and fourth game-winning goal.
- Dowdell notched her first goal of her career.
- Lospinoso made four saves in the win.
- The Bobcats out shot the Broncs 11-5 with eight shots on goal.
- Quinnipiac had seven corner kicks as compared to Rider's two.
- The Bobcats will play in the regular season finale on Wednesday, Oct. 27 at home against Fairfield. Kickoff is set for 2:30. Quinnipiac's seeding in the MAAC Tournament will be determined after the completion of the regular season.
