House Scores in 1-1 Tie vs Providence

HAMDEN, Conn. – The No. 8/8 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team recorded back-to-back ties against No. 9/10 Providence on Saturday afternoon. The Bobcats and Friars played 60 minutes and ended the game tied 1-1 after an addition five-minute overtime period.
Graduate student Taylor House scored the Bobcats' goal in the second period to tie the game after Providence took a 1-0 lead. House recorded her second goal of the weekend and third of the season. In the net, graduate student Corinne Schroeder made 32 saves and allowed just one goal against. Schroeder also stopped a penalty shot that occurred in the first minute of the game after a delaying game penalty was called against Quinnipiac.
The Bobcats remain unbeaten through eight games this season, and the Friars also stay unbeaten through the team's first four games.

- (6:21, 2nd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 0, Providence 1: The Friars scored the first goal of the game off a tip-in from Hayley Lunny. Lily Martinson and Caroline Peterson tallied assists on the goal.
- (7:25, 2nd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 1, Providence 1: About a minute later, House scored to tie the game. Graduate student Renee Saltness retrieved the puck from redshirt-junior Courtney Vorster and shot the puck on net. House was in the right spot and sent the rebound home to tie the game.
- Both Vorster and House recorded two points through the two games against Providence.
- Saltness also added an assist in the tie.
- The Bobcats outshot the Friars, 38-33.
- Neither team converted on the power play – Quinnipiac (0/5), Providence (0/3)
- Quinnipiac dominated the faceoff circle, winning 72%. Senior Lexie Adzija led the team with a 77% winning percentage.
