Mobley Leads Bobcats Past LIU in Dominating Fashion

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team dominated the LIU Sharks, 9-1, on Friday, Oct. 1. Sophomore Olivia Mobley tallied her first career hat trick in the win and also recorded an assist for four points on the night.
Six different Bobcats recorded multiple points in the win. Senior Lexie Adzija and junior Alexa Hoskin recorded two goals each. Graduate student Corinne Schroeder earned her second win of the season and made 11 saves in the net.
The 9-1 win over LIU is the largest margin of victory since Jan. 17, 2021 when the Bobcats defeated LIU, 11-0. Quinnipiac out shot LIU 52-12 tonight and went 2-8 on the power play.

- (3:39, 1st period, EV) – Quinnipiac 1, LIU: The Bobcats got things going early in the first with a goal from sophomore Olivia Mobley. She skated in the corner after securing the puck from an LIU skater and took it in herself to give Quinnipiac a 1-0 lead.
- (6:52, 1st period, EV) – Quinnipiac 1, LIU 1: The Sharks scored their only goal of the game in the first period. Carrigan Umpherville scored off a pass from Matilda Bjur.
- (11:27, 1st period, PP) – Quinnipiac 2, LIU 1: Mobley scored her second goal of the night on the Bobcats' power play. Graduate student Taylor House and junior Kate Reilly recorded assists on the rebound goal.

- (12:20, 3rd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 9, LIU 1: Graduate student Renee Saltness tallied her first goal of the year off a shot from the middle of the Bobcats' offensive zone.
- Mobley recorded three goals and one assist to lead the Bobcats. The last time a Bobcat notched a hat trick was on Feb. 8, 2020, and Laura Lundblad netted three goals in 5-1 win over RPI.
- Six Bobcats recorded multiple points in the win, and 13 skaters total had at least one point.
- Adzija scored her first goal of the season, along with an assist and another goal for three point on the night.
- Peart had three points in the win with a goal and two assists.
- Hoskin netted two goals and has scored a goal in all three games so far this season.
