Bobcats Come up Short against Clarkson

Quinnipiac outshot Clarkson, 43-23, but fell short at home
HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team fell short on Sunday afternoon to the No. 9/10 Clarkson Golden Knights, 3-1. The Bobcats outshot the Golden Knights 43-23; the last time Quinnipiac recorded 43 shots on goal against Clarkson was on Jan. 8, 2011 in a 3-2 overtime victory.
Senior Renee Saltness scored the Bobcats' one goal, and redshirt-sophomore Logan Angers tallied 20 saves. Clarkson's netminder Michelle Pasiechnyk had 42 saves, and Gabrielle David and Stephanie Markowski led all players with a goal and an assist each.
The Bobcats skated 6-versus-5 and later 6-versus-4 while on a power play in the final 3:44 of the game but could not find the back of the net. Quinnipiac and Clarkson both stand at 1-3 in ECAC Hockey play. Quinnipiac moves to 6-3 on the season, and Clarkson is now 5-5-1.

- (2:17, EV) – Quinnipiac 1, Clarkson 3: Just over a minute later, senior Renee Saltness buried a rebound off of a shot from sophomore Alexa Hoskin to put the Bobcats within two. Defender Courtney Vorster tallied her second assist of the weekend on the goal.

- Vorster recorded her second assist of the weekend and fourth of the year.
- Angers made 20 saves in the loss and moves to 4-3 on the season.
- Junior forward Lexie Adzija led the team with seven shots on net.
- Adzija and senior Taylor House won 68% of their faceoffs. As a team, Quinnipiac won 60%.
- The Bobcats outshot the Golden Knights 43-23, which ties the team's highest shot total ever against Clarkson.
- Quinnipiac went 0-5 on the power play for the second straight day. The Bobcats did, however, remain strong on the penalty kill, holding the Golden Knights off of three power plays.
